DOCTOR 1: Nicole Alison

episode 24

After their mind-blowing shower exercise, Alison went back to the hospital and did her usual routine.

Hours passed by like a blur. The residents decided to have a coffee break to the nearest cafè to keep them awake during their shift. It's already 11:15 PM and the ER is practically empty—which is a rare sight so they decided to make the most out of it.

Grace and Luis walked side by side. Luis is a 3rd year resident in the ER. Mike and Alison just watched the two bickering about something. When they arrived at the coffee shop, Alison shook her head as memories flashed through her. It was the same café where she stopped by before flying to Korea. The same place where she last saw Nicole and Hayden together.

Thinking about it, she can't believe how fast the time can be. She remembered promising not to cry because of him. And look at her now. She's giving him the chance to make her cry again. But she's hoping that he will make her cry because of too much happiness. And she thinks he'll do just that.

They entered the familiar place and ordered. As the three of them were waiting, she fished out her phone and read the messages from Hayden. She's sure that he's already asleep now but she replied, nonetheless.

Hayden: Hey, babe. Miss you :(
Sent: 8:46 PM

Hayden: Please try to don't skip your meals, babe. Love you, always.
Sent: 9:01 PM

Hayden: My bed feels empty without you by my side. My bed misses you but I miss you more!
Sent: 9:55 PM

Hayden: Babe, I'm gonna try to sleep so please don't stay too long on my mind, okay? I love you!
Sent: 10:23 PM

Alison: I can't promise you that because I like you crazy for me. I love you, too and I miss your bed.
Sent: 11:47 PM

Alison shook her head. Sometimes, she can't believe how cheesy Hayden is.

"Alison, are you fine?" Mike asked her, giving her coffee.

Alison smiled and gripped her coffee cup. "Yeah. Thanks. Let's go."

They all walked back to the hospital, coffee in their hands as they talk and laugh among each other.

"Get your hands off of me or I'll chop it off with my scalpel." Grace attempts to pull away from Luis' arm around her but he refused.

"Sure sure. Then you-" Luis didn't get to finish his sentence because of a huge explosion that made them jump to their feet.

"Oh my God!" Wide-eyed Grace says as she covered her mouth in shock.

Coffee stains littered across Alison's scrub suit when she dropped her coffee cup as she looked at the van and the motorcycle's debris scattered all over the empty road in front of the coffee shop.

All four of them were rooted in their spot, disaster unraveling before their very eyes. People are starting to gather to see what the explosion was about.

Thick smoke covered the accident area as passengers of the van tried to come out one by one, crying out for help.

Mike was the first one to bolt towards the accident area, throwing his coffee cup away and the slice of cake he was about to eat.

"Fuck." Alison muttered as she followed Mike running towards the other side of the road.

Mike went to the first patient he came across with. He is walking towards the sidewalk carefully as he wipes the blood on his forehead. Alison went to the 2 riders of the motorcycle, sprawled onto the floor approximately 3 meters away from the wreck.
