The discharge papers were already signed, things packed. All that is left to do for Win is to walk out. He was escorted out by his staff, slowly and carefully stepping on his bandaged foot, as per doctor's order. They were half way through the ER wing, when a nurse rushed past, then another. A commotion was currently unfolding. Win instinctively looked towards where it was happening.

"Male, Twenty-three. Motorcycle collision!" A medic announced the moment the ER door bursts. Two of them were pushing the stretcher.
"No pulse", the other informed. The patient was no where recognizable, blood was dripping unto the floor painting it red. Nurses immediately surrounding him the moment he was brought to the resuscitation bay.

Win watched intently, he should've continued walking but his feet said no. Then, he saw her.
"Start compressions." She commanded, steady and firm. Not a single trace of nervousness was seen on her face.
Riza
The same doctor he was annoying earlier. Gone was the doctor who smiled sarcastically and would definitely threaten him if he ever attempts to take a run this week.

Hair tucked beneath a surgical cap, masked hanged on her neck, scrubs covered in her patient's blood. Not single second wasted, she climbed unto the stretcher and did the compressions herself. One-Two-Three-Four. Her hands compressed on the patient's chest as she constantly glanced on the monitor.

Flatline

"Charge to two hundred", she said panting however very calm. Then a nurse handed her the paddles.

"Clear.", Not the same in the movies where the doctors would usually shout that word, for her it was in firm tone.
The patient's body jerked.

Flatline.

"Im gonna resume compressions" The same steady tone.

Win witnessed it all. He was intently looking, face clearly in awe, not because it's his first time witnessing this kind of incident. But because of her. Her force behind every compressions, her calmness, her ability to lead the room despite in pressure. She wasn't delicate, she was elegantly fighting, not for her but for her patient's life. With all her might. His reaction was evident, his staff noticed.

"Come on" she muttered. Another compression, then another, then another. Sweat rolled down the side of her face. Her breathing became heavier. Her arms had to be burning now. Win unconsciously found himself clenching his fists. Come on, bumalik ka. But then...

Beep...

A faint rhythm came out of the monitor. The nurses stared at it. Then another, a pulse. She exhaled in relief, and straightened her back not letting the numbness catch her.

"Move" she then commanded.

The team immediately understood. The stretcher was immediately rolled forward to the operating room without wasting any second.

She removed her bloodied gloves, as she walked towards the OR giving instructions at the same time.
"Notify surgery. Prepare two units. Call CT"

For whatever reason, she stopped on her steps and glanced at the door near the ER exit. Win noticed her motion and immediately hid behind the wall. His staff was confused but also did the same. Eyes widened, palms and back rested against the wall.

Win took a relieved sigh, "Muntik na yun ah".
"Sir?", one of his companions spoke.
"Hmm?" He looked at them, clearly startled.
"Ready na po ba tayo?"
"Ah" He adjusted his polo, "Yes, tara na", and walked as if nothing happened.
