I took his hand in mine and led us both over to the board game section, which was one of the main things I wanted to do today.
I grabbed a stack of Uno and decided that this would be our first game we played. I shuffled the cards and began passing out seven cards to each of us. I placed a flipped card on the table to reveal the color we would start with.
The card was green.
Enrico picked up his cards and took a look at them. I tried to read his facial expressions but couldn't. I then picked up my cards and examined them.
I had a whole lot of nothing. In my hand, I had two red cards, one yellow card, one green card, and three blue cards.
Where did the wild cards go? I let out a sigh.
Because it was his turn, Enrico put down a green card. I set down my only green card and began questioning him.
It's not like Uno was a difficult game, so he wouldn't be distracted.
"What's your favorite color?" I asked, a slight smile on my face. He paused for a moment before responding.
"Probably any shade of brown, but tan is my favorite." He said this as he scanned the room, pausing occasionally to look me in the eyes.
Enrico placed another card on the table. "And yours?"
"I don't really have a favorite color, but I do like black and green. They both compliment my skin." I shrugged my shoulders.
Enrico nodded his head, agreeing with me.
"So, what inspired you to start many businesses?" I asked him a more in-depth question, seeking to learn more about him.
"I didn't like the idea of working for someone else and having them tell me what to do." He gave a warm smile.
"On top of that, I had a plus side. My father runs a construction company, while my mother works as an interior designer. They both helped me build and start my career." He finished.
As he explained himself, I smiled. I couldn't agree with him any less. Having people telling you what to do, isn't exactly pleasant.
"I expected nothing less from you," I remarked cheesily. "As for your parents, I'm glad they were able to help and support you."
He returned my gaze and nodded appreciatively. After Enrico threw down a red plus two, I picked up two cards.
"What made you want to become a lawyer?" He asked as he placed another card on the table.
I winked and replied, "I'm good at arguing."
With only one card in his hand, he shook his head and said 'uno.' I sighed and shifted my gaze to my cards.
Because I had a wild plus four in my hand, I placed that down and called out 'uno'. I chose yellow as the new color as he picked up four with a sigh.
Since it was still my turn, I put down the yellow card, and I proudly won the game.
Enrico sighed, clearly dissatisfied with his recent losses. I shrugged my shoulders and cleaned up all the uno cards.
We started talking a little more when we moved on to the next game, go fish.
"Guess what?" I asked, breaking the silence once more.
"Hm?" He asked, giving me his undivided attention.
"It'll be my birthday in a few weeks!" I exclaimed, showing off my wide smile to flaunt to Rico.
