I arrived at the airfield. I saw an enormous light blue airplane in taxi mode. I have to admit, it looked super luxurious. I have a little time before the princess deplanes. I pulled out my phone and shot Marianne a quick text.
Me: The princess is here, and nothing's even close to being ready. Can you help set her room up please?
Marianne: Princess? The queen has a daughter?
I rolled my eyes.
Me: I'll explain later. Just please help? I gotta stall her until her room is prepared.
Marianne: Sure I can help, I finished all of my other tasks early.
I breathed a sigh of relief; Marianne's a lifesaver. The plane came to a stop. I made my way to the side where the door is opening. Two servants roll a large, elegant-looking, metal staircase to the door. The door opened fully and the princess walks out. My first impression of her? She's gorgeous. Her body was flawless. Her skin was flawless. Her hair was flawless. I could see why her and Felix would be betrothed; both of them are perfect. Her cocoa skin was glowing. It radiated like a firefly in the dead of night, you couldn't help but look at her. Her hair fell straight, with a center part almost identical to Felix's. Her eyes were slender and a deep brown, lined with long, luscious lashes. However, her eyes, they seemed lifeless, with no emotion whatsoever. Her round, small, lips were resting in a natural position. She wore an off the shoulder v-cut shirt. It was red and short sleeved, which she paired with a black skirt and red heels which accentuated her legs. A diamond tiara rested on her head, which glimmered in the sunlight.
She was escorted off the plane by the pilot, as she reached the bottom of the stairs she looked around. Was this her first time in Elodia?
"Welcome milady," I greeted, extending a hand. "My name is Baker and I'm your retainer during your stay in Elodia." She shook my hand delicately. Her motion felt lifeless. Numb even.
"No need for formalities. Just call me Aria," she said stoically. What's with her? She was like a doll, almost inanimate. I wonder if something's wrong. All in all she seems nice.
"Would you like a tour?" I asked. "I'd be happy to show you around the palace."
"That sounds pleasant," she said, her face doesn't even change expression. It was as if she was constantly on neutral. I walked off, she followed. Her heels clicked against the pavement in medium strides. Her strides sounded graceful and refined, but also as if she's holding back. Like she was hiding something from the world, and from herself. I whipped out my phone and texted Marianne.
Me: I'm with the princess right now. How long until you're ready?
Marianne: Less than 30 minutes. Just keep her busy
But where would I take her? Maybe she would enjoy the beachfront? I'm sure she wouldn't mind taking a stroll through the city. But I should ask her just in case.
"Would you like to visit the beachfront?" I asked.
"That sounds lovely. I love the beach," once again, with no emotion. I took her through Xitsil, the capital city of Elodia, where the royal family lives. Xitsil is a reletively big city, there's a lot to do. "I just realized, I forgot a bathing suit," Aria spoke up, looking at me.
"There's a store at the beach that sells them. We'll be there soon."
Felix: Where are you?
Me: At the beach.
Felix: Why?
I stuffed my phone back into my pocket, angrily. I didn't feel like hearing from him right now. I guess I didn't hide my anger well enough because Aria had noticed.
