chapter twenty four

"Y-You want me to kill Taehyun?" Beomgyu said, his voice shaking.

"Why yes, I thought I made myself clear." Soobin shrugged

"I-I can't do that. Why would you even ask me to do such a thing?!" Beomgyu yelled out, slowly walking away from him.

"Aw..c'mon! You trust me right? Just kill Taehyun for me, and everything is solved. It's simple really."

Beomgyu shook his head and started walking out the door, "No. No I'm not doing that!"

Beomgyu turned around and walked away, only to feel a knife slightly graze his cheek, leaving blood dripping down.

"Ow!"

"Unfortunately, you don't really have a choice."

Beomgyu faced Soobin, who had a psychotic smile on his face, "C'mon Beomgyu! Come sit down with me and we can discuss!"

"I SAID NO!"

Soobin went silent for a minute and then smirked at Beomgyu.

"Y'know, there are many things I know about that you don't."

"What do you mean?"

"Your parents, what about them? After you went missing for 4 years your parents were very worried. They lost hope in you, in themselves as parents. You haven't even visited them once ever since you came back. It's been almost a year."

"Uh huh..."

"Wouldn't it be a shame if they all just went BOOM!"

"You wouldn't do that.."

"You don't know what I'm capable of."

Beomgyu started shaking and looked at the ground, trying his best to avoid eye contact with the taller male in front of him.

"Or perhaps..a long lost relative? I could easily kill your sister and you would never know! That's how gullible the both of you are."

"You're not going to do any of that!"

"I WILL KILL EVERYONE OUT THERE IN THAT LIVING ROOM RIGHT NOW CHOI BEOMGYU."

Beomgyu flinched as Soobin raised his voice. Everything that was happening right now was like the trolley problem. Either kill one person and save multiple people, with you being at fault for it. Or multiple people die, but you're not at fault. It was a hard decision, believe it or not.

"Think about Hyuka-"

"Don't you dare call him that." Beomgyu said with a somewhat threatening tone in his voice.

"Alright then, think about Kai. If he were to die, his family would be so sad! He's fairly popular too, many people would be devastated."

Beomgyu just nodded

"And for Taehyun? He has nothing. His friends left him after a petty argument, which by the way, was your fault. And his parents pay no mind to him. He has nothing! If he were to die, no one would really care."

"I-I would care.."

"You're nothing, Choi Beomgyu. Just a waste of space."

Present time

Kai was taking a night stroll to try and keep his mind off of things. Everything that went on within the last three days stressed him out so much he couldn't sleep. It was traumatizing for him.

You wake up and the person you loved so dearly is dead.

"Bring him back..?"

It sounded too unreal. Sure, Magic Island was a place of many possibilities, but bringing a person back from the dead? It seemed too impossible.

He soon stopped in front of a house and just stared at it.

It was Soobin's house.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt to look around. More clues about what led to the murder." Kai shrugged and walked towards the house, opening the door.

It was unlocked. That's weird.

He walked inside and looked around. Everything seemed a lot more depressing than it was before, and nothing about the interior of the house changed.

The only difference was that he didn't have his best friend there with him.

He walked through the halls, passing a few bedrooms. One specifically was blocked off. It was where Taehyun was murdered.

Kai shook away the thoughts and continued walking, finding himself in a huge master bedroom. He just assumed it belonged to Soobin. There was one thing that caught his eye though. It was a computer.

It had a video playing along with the audio playing on a separate radio. It was weird though, the voices in the audio sounded weirdly familiar. Kai walked over to the computer to see what was going on.

"Yerim? Beomgyu? What the hell is going on here?"

There wasn't much going on in the recording, not much could be heard. Just certain bits and pieces. Though, he could've sworn he heard something about Soobin threatening someone. Thinking about it now, he would definitely do something like that.

But, one thing could've been heard loud and clear. It was shocking to say the least but then again not really.

"Soobin is trying to kill me.."

Those were Beomgyu's exact words from the recording. Why did it matter though?

"You deserve it. Killing someone and saying you lo- AGH!"

Gunshots fired and blood was splattered all over the computer and radio. Kai fell the floor in pain and looked up at the man that was standing above him.

"I could charge you for breaking and entering y'know." Soobin said with a wicked smile.
