May 22, 2020 (Two days after the Kai incident)
"Alright, Beomgyu. Before we continue with this. I need an explanation as to why you decided to murder Taehyun. And it better be good or else I'll cancel this whole operation!" Jungeun said as she hit a ruler against the the table, as if she was a teacher
"Well- um.." Beomgyu bounced his leg due to anxiety as he felt the eyes of two people, plus a robot, staring at him.
"I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY EITHER ANSWER OR CANCEL!"
"OKOK!"
Beomgyu said and looked at the three girls staring at him. It was still very pressuring but he was running out of time.
"Soobin told me to do it for him."
Jungeun raised and eyebrow then looked at Choerry, who just shrugged.
"That's it..?" Choerry sighed.
"CANCEL-"
"WAIT THERE'S MORE."
Jungeun rolled her eyes and looked over at Beomgyu again, hitting the table with the ruler, "CHOP CHOP!"
"Taehyun and Soobin had apparently gotten into a really bad argument. I don't really know what it was about, but from what Taehyun said, it had to do something with Soobin breaking a promise. Soobin said it had to do with Taehyun getting in the way of things." Beomgyu said, at this point he just closed his eyes cause three girls staring at him was too much.
"It had gotten to the point where Soobin wanted Taehyun dead, but he didn't want to get his own hands dirty. And because I trusted him so much, he used that against me and made me do it. He was one of the only people I could trust because I had major trust issues."
"So he manipulated you and took advantage of it?" Jungeun asked, Beomgyu nodded.
"Even with how much I trusted him, I still didn't want to do it. I tried getting away from him, but he had threatened to kill everyone else we were with as well as my family. It was a trolley situation, it was too stressful! But he wasn't giving me a choice!"
"The hell is the trolley situation?" Choerry said with distaste in her voice.
"The trolley problem is a thought experiment in ethics about a fictional scenario in which an onlooker has the choice to save 5 people in danger of being hit by a trolley, by diverting the trolley to kill just 1 person." Vivi said suddenly, "This is what Merriam Webster has said online."
"No idea what you just said!" Choerry said with a pained smile.
"Basically, on one track there's five people tied, and on the other, is only one. The train is destined to go on the track with the five people. It's either you let the five people get hit by the train, or you control the train, killing the one person but saving five lives." Jungeun said.
"Obviously just kill the one person then!" Choerry huffed.
"BUT YOU SEE! You controlled the train, so if you control the train to kill the one person, you are at fault. You are the murderer. But since the train was already destined to go on the track with five people, the train would hit them, and you are not at fault for their deaths."
"THIS IS STUPID!"
"In Beomgyu's case. Option one, don't kill Taehyun and have 5 people killed, BUT he is not at fault for it. Option two, kill Taehyun and save those 5 people, BUT he is at fault for Taehyun's murder." Jungeun kept talking and hitting a board as if she was teaching an entire class on murder.
"Oh okay." Choerry said and nodded.
"Beomgyu obviously chose option two, which is why we're here today."
