Stiles POV:

Ken Yukimura stares out his windows at his desk as the sun sets over Beacon Hills. The last moments I'm safe before the Oni comes after me- the nogitsune. But he has a plan.

And I hate to say it, but it's a pretty damn brilliant plan.

If he can pull it off...

And I'm stuck here, just letting it all happen. There's nothing I can do. I'm just a silent bystander to all of this. To all this chaos and pain it's inflicting.

A fly buzzes around my history teacher before landing on his desk. He carefully gabs a book and drops it on top of it, killing it.

"Coming in on a Saturday," the nogitsune makes us known. "That's dedication." I look around the room, him trying to find where they could be. "Where is she hiding them?"

"I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about," Mr. Yukimura lies.

"Her little knives," he looks through one of the bookshelves. He starts dropping all the books to the floor, searching for them. "Daggers. I know what they are. Physical representation of her tails. However the hell that works." He turns our attention to Mr. Yukimura and starts slowly stalking toward him.

"Maybe you'd like to do some reading on it," he shrugs, refusing to give in. "I could direct you to the section on Japanese myth in the library."

"No. No, I'd like to talk to you," he doesn't accept his offer. He knows what Mr. Yukimura' s trying to do. Deflect.

And the nogitsune is done with it.

"The older the tail, the stronger the Oni," he says as I get closer to the man. "Am I right? I know there's one left. I know it's the strongest." He's now right in front of Mr. Yukimura. He's challenging him to lie again. To hide again.

"Unfortunate, I don't know what you're referring to," he lies again.

It tsks. "You'll talk." Mr. Yukimura holds his chin high in refusal.

I lift the book, and the fly flies right into his mouth. And then he starts choking. He keeps his mouth shut, though.

"They always talk."

Third Person POV:

"This looks just like me," Kira gasps as she inspects the photo. She flips it to the back to see 1943 written on the back. "This has to be my grandmother."

"You remember I told you about Malia?" Scott asks her. They're both sitting on her bed together. "She's the last one who saw Stiles at Eichen House. This picture and this." He holds up a sheathed blade. "They found it with a body buried in the wall. The same backwards 5 that the Oni put on us was on the wall. It sounds like it all goes back to your family. Your grandmother. Your mom."

Kira's phone buzzes and she sees a text from her mom. Her eyes widen in alarm as she read it.

"What is it?" Scott asks.

"My dad."

Kira grabs what her mom asks and they both get over to the school as fast as they can, photo and blade in hand. They run into his classroom to see Noshiko hunched over a choking Ken.

"Kira, did you bring it?" Noshiko asks her daughter as she strokes her husband's back. She nods and hands her mom the container.

"You going to tell me what is it?" Kira asks as she holds her father.

"Reishi," Noshiko replies.

"You're not seriously giving Dad magic mushrooms?" Kira gawks. Noshiko gives her an annoyed look as she stuffs the mushrooms into Ken's mouth. Once he swallows them, he starts coughing violently.
