Derek is out on another investigation, another family of wolves closer to the coast. I'm beyond worried that something will happen to him, wether it be hunters or the police. He's assured me that he's being safe and is covering his tracks, but I can't help but worry.

Thankfully, I have my pack back at home keeping me occupied. I am currently on a call with them as we try to read through The Dread Doctors book. I am back on the green couch and Rica and Fallon are playing with some toys around me. Scott, Kira, Stiles, Malia, Lydia, and... Theo are sitting in the McCall residence. Lydia scanned the book and sent me a copy which is currently opened on my phone.

"My mom's book club usually has more wine," Lydia notes in an attempt to lighten the mood. We're all a bit stressed about opening up this book. From what we know, Tracy read it and then went on her killing spree. And Malia attempted to read it recently and almost got run over by a car. So, yeah, we're all on edge.

"Well, they also probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations," Stiles retorted.

"That's why Malia's here," Scott says.

"So none of us go running into traffic?" Kira asks.

Scott nods. "Or worse."

"Like what happened to Judy," Malia comments. We all look to her, confused. "Chapter 14."

Lydia takes a book off the table. "Maybe I should have my mother read it. She might remember a girl with a tail leaping off the ceiling and attacking everyone."

Stiles nods

Stiles nods. "All right, yeah. If it works."

"It has to," Lydia replies, mainly speaking to herself.

"What does that mean?" Scott asks.

"I think I saw them during my surgery," Lydia tells us, surprising all of us.

"The Dread Doctors?" I ask warily.

She nods. "When I look at the cover of the book, it's almost like..."

"A memory trying to resurface," Theo finishes the thought.

"Yeah," Lydia nods.

"Isn't that what Valack wanted when he wrote it?" Kira questions.

"They did something to me," Lydia tells us. "I want to know what it is." Her newfound determination inspiring, we all take our copies and begin to read.

Reading this book is exhausting. It's taking a huge mental toll on me, and I can tell it is on the others too. "Anyone feel anything yet?" I ask aloud.

"Tired," Kira sighs.

"Hungry," Lydia replies.

"I think she meant the book," Theo tells her. Lydia glares at him annoyedly before returning to the convoluted pages. Stiles gets up to grab some coffee with Malia in the kitchen. Kira tries to get back to the reading, but she then sinks into the couch and sighs heavily. She shuts her eyes and relaxes, but her expression shows she's frustrated.
