Third Person POV:
In the middle of the night, Lydia wakes up with a headache. She reaches for the ibuprofen beside her bed to find the container empty.
"Mom, I'm going to the store," she yells as she gets out of bed and slides on her shoes and her green coat. "Mom, do you hear me? Of course you don't. You would have heard me screaming like a lunatic," she mumbles as she steps up to her window.
She stops, looking at the full moon as its light covers her face. "Lunatic," she shrugs. She goes to her car and hops in.
She drives, but it's as if she's in a trance. She feels a compulsion to drive somewhere, but she doesn't know where or why. She pulls into a parking lot and gets out, confused.
She's at an outdoor pool. She glances around, looking for any clues as to why she's here. She looks at the water and sees a body in the water, floating face-down.
"Oh god," she takes a step back and covers her mouth in horror. Heavily panting, she slowly walks up to the edge of the pool. "Oh my god. Oh my god, please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead," she mumbles. " Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead. Oh my god." She gets to her knees and reaches forward.
She gasps in relief when she sees the lifeless eyes of the CPR dummy. "Are you kidding me?" she groans as she tries to calm her racing heart. She looks down at her hands. "Oh!" she gasps as she eyes the blood all over them. She slowly turns around to see a pool of blood next to her, surrounding the lifeguard chair. She looks up.
A boy sits dead on the chair, his throat red with blood.
She screams.
Hana POV:
"You lost him?" Derek glares through the phone. We're in the woods looking for Cora and Boyd. I'm still a little weak, so Derek had Scott split up with us since he didn't want to leave my side. He called Isaac for back up and he's on his way over. Allison needed a moment to process everything, so I don't know where she is right now. She needs space. I understand.
"Yeah, I kind of had to," Scott replies.
"Wasn't exactly the plan," Derek observes our surroundings. The twins stripped me of all my weapons after Deucalion knocked me out, so I'm relying on my physical training and Derek at the moment. Derek told me to stay beside him so that he can easily reach me if there's a threat. Exhausted and mourning, I don't put up a fight.
"I know, which is why I think that we should stick together. Trust me, he's too strong, too fast, and way too angry for one person to handle. We've got to do this together," Scott tells him.
"Look, we're at the trails at the entrance to the preserve. Can you meet us there?"
"Yeah. I've just got to drop something off first," Scott hangs up. Derek puts his phone back in his pocket and wraps his arms around my waist, leaning down to touch his forehead with mine.
