Jenna darted past the guard, her scarf waving behind her. She had to be careful. She could not afford to be caught. She was poor and, had to steal to keep the food on the table. The market was an easy target, dozens of people were there. The young thief could easily get lost in the crowd.

Jenna was about to reach for a hunk of bread when a group of guards, about four in all, barged past her and knocked her to the ground. "Make way!" one of the guards bellowed "Theif coming through!"

Jenna saw that they were escorting a young boy, barely her own age through the crowd. He was dressed in a long blue coat.   His hands were bound by rope.  He looked down at his booted feet.  His face showed not fear, but concentration. One of the guards was holding a sword in a scabbard, another held a small sack.

Jenna was not looking where she was going and crashed into a stall, causing it to collapse. The guards turned their heads to see what happened and as quick as a flash, the young convict slammed his elbow into his captors chin.  There was a flash of silver as a small dagger was pulled from his but and just like that, his bindings were slashed open.  He snatched his sword out of the guards hand, drew it, and brought it down upon the other guard's arm.  The poor man screamed in pain.  All of the armed men drew their weapons and began to advance towards the boy.

He weaved in and out of the crowd while the guards gave chase. He grabbed Jenna's shoulder and held the knife to her throat. "Stay back!" he yelled "or she dies"

The knife came closer to her throat. Jenna began to panic. Reluctantly the guards dropped their weapons. Suddenly he dropped the knife and sprinted towards the bridge, but guards were waiting for him on the other side. He stepped up onto the parapet. His sword was drawn. "Get down, Blue," a guard said "you have nowhere to run"

Blue looked behind him.

"Or do I? "

With that, he leaped off the bridge and plummeted into the gushing river below.
