"Is this it?" asked Ty, looking on at the stone doorway carved into the cliff face. Blue looked down at the markings that Acid hastily scribbled on his map. This was definitely the place.
"Yep, this is the place. Acid said the ichor was somewhere in here"
The journey had only taken them around half a day. The three could still see the silhouette of the City in the distance.
Jenna walked over and ran her hands along the markings carved into the doorway."What do these mean?" she asked aloud.
"Who cares?" interrupted Ty, before Blue could answer.
He walked over to the stone doors and heaved them open. He disappeared into the darkness.
"As I was about to say, before I was so rudely interrupted, I think they're runes. What they mean, though, that's beyond" spoke Blue. Jenna shrugged and dashed in through the stone doorway. Blue followed her."I call dibs on naming the caves" spoke Blue, seemingly for no reason whatsoever.
They had been walking through the stone caves for a while. There was barely any light to see by, save for the dim cyan crystals that grew from the ceiling. The tunnel gradually began to slope downwards. The cold grey walls were devoid of any decoration.
"Oh really? What are you going to call them?" asked Jenna disinterestedly.
"I haven't gotten to that part yet"
An hour passed. Soon Blue's feet began to hurt, so he begged the team to stop. They sat down on the cold ground. As he sat down, Blue placed his hand on the ground. It was unusually smooth. Curious, he created an orb of light in his hand and held it close to the ground. Rather than rough stone, the ground was covered in neatly cut tiles. His curiosity growing, Blue created several more light orbs and hurled them around the cavern, illuminating it. They were no longer in a cave, but rather some kind of temple. Jenna jumped to her feet and began investigating the murals on the wall.
"Woah, Blue! take a look at this!" she cried.
Blue dashed over to the wall, light orb still in hand. He was standing in front of a four-panel mural.
"What does it mean?" he asked himself.
The first panel depicted four seemingly human figures standing around a floating rock. They looked like they were standing in a cave. The next panel showed the same four figures, except this time, they were shooting up into the sky, golden wings sprouting from their backs. The third piece of artwork displayed a battle scene, with the same figures leading a vast army. Although blue could recognize some of the weapons that they held, the rest looked completely alien. The final scene proudly depicted the four figures standing triumphantly upon the corpse of a-
The bottom half of the mural was missing. Beneath it, chunks of broken stone littered the ground.
"Well, that's a shame" uttered Jenna.
In between each panel was a series of runes. Try as he might, Blue simply could not decipher them. Behind him, he noticed the Ty had managed to push open another stone doorway. This one was much larger than the first and was covered in beautiful carvings.
"Well, shall we press on?" asked Ty, attempting to hide his impatience.
Blue and Jenna nodded and began to walk towards their companion, when Blue stopped dead in his tracks.
"What's wrong?" asked Jenna worriedly.
"I've got it" breathed Blue, "I'm gonna call them MagiCaverns"
