"What?!" cried Jenna and Ty, simultaneously.
"It's true" said Blue, "the last time we met, I killed him."
"But why?" asked Jenna, eager for more information.
"Well, I was here for my visit, about four years back, when he attacked me. He was spouting some rubbish about "the power of darkness". He said that he knew me as a child, and that his master wished me dead. When we were fighting, I burnt his eye and killed him,"
"Well, that's lovely and all, but shouldn't we get going?" This place is giving me the creeps" interrupted an impatient Ty.
"Why do you want to go with us?" asked Blue.
"Because, for one thing, my clan would have already found a new leader, and two, I don't want to suddenly get killed by that freak,"
"Well then, let's split up and search the town for supplies. We'll meet back here when we're ready,"
Jenna opened the dusty chest with a grunt. The lid swung open and she peered inside. It was empty, just like all the others. She sighed and moved on to the next house. She spotted something on the shelf next to a smashed window. She picked it up. It looked like plans for something. The papers were old and the edges were burned. However she couldn't read the writing. She folded it up and put it in her pocket. In a barrel outside she found some salted meat. Satisfied with the items that she had found, she decided to return to the meeting place.
"I found some preserved food" said Ty, presenting a small sack.
"All I found were a few, dusty books and some crossbow bolts" said Blue, also presenting his items.
"I found some meat" said Jenna, "and this."
She handed the schematics to Blue. He studied it for a moment. Finally he folded it up and said, "The writing looks dwarven, and judging by the stamp at the top, it's quite important. We should probably return it."
Jenna agreed. Ty groaned. "Mount. Cyte is miles from here" he complained.
"Then you better get used to being on horseback" replied Blue.
