Lisa suddenly woke up to the beep sound of her phone. She opened her eyes and immediately picked up the phone over the night stand. When she looked into it, there is a message from Dr. Shin Min-a.
From: Dr. Shin Min-a
Miss Manoban, Can you come here to my clinic? We have something to talk about Jennie. As soon as she read the message, Lisa immediately got up of the bed and took a quick shower. After an hour, Lisa was dressed up and ready to leave the house.
"Auntie, where are you going?", Woo Jin asked when he woke up.
"Ow, I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?", Lisa asked and the young boy shook his head. "No, Auntie. So where are you going?", the young boy repeated his question.
"I will just go somewhere. Tell them when they find me. I'm going now. Be a good boy!", Lisa caressed Woo Jin's head and hurried away. She then messaged the Doctor and drove to the hospital.
I'm on my way there.
*Sent to Dr. Shin Min-a*
"Good Morning, Miss Manoban. I'm glad you came here". The Doctor greeted her as soon as Lisa arrived to the clinic. "Take your seat. Want some coffee?", Doctor Shin Mina offers and Lisa just nodded to it.
While the doctor prepares a coffee for her, Lisa asks about Jennie, "Any update?".
"Sip this coffee first before we talked." Doctor Shin Mina smile to her and put the coffee on the desk. After that, she sat down on her swivel chair and get something on the drawer–a brown envelope.
"Take a look inside. So you will know the answer to all your questions." Lisa felt nervous as she took the brown envelope. She knew this papers was the medical examination result of Jennie.
"Dissociative Amnesia? What do you mean by this?" Lisa had a puzzled look on her face because she do not understand the result.
"Dissociative amnesia is a condition in which a person cannot remember important information about their life. This forgetting may be limited to certain specific areas–thematic, or may include much of the person's life history and/or identity, generally", as the Doctor explained this kind of condition to Lisa. But the woman in front of her was taking her time to absorb and process all the words inside her head.
"How did that happen?", Lisa muttered under her breath.
"This kind of amnesia occurs when a person blocks out certain events, often associated with stress or trauma like what she had experienced before, the death of her mother and your daughter. This traumatic experience leaving her unable to remember important personal information. And most patients are partly or completely unaware that they have gaps in their memory". The doctor added and continued explaining it to Lisa.
"Is there a possibility that she will regain her loss memories?", asked Lisa with a cold expression.
"For most people with dissociative amnesia, memory eventually returns, sometimes slowly and sometimes suddenly. In some cases, however, the person is never able to fully recovered their loss memories."
Every words she heard from the doctor made her felt uneasy, barely breathe, and afraid that Jennie won't remember her anymore. Lisa was shocked by what she found out. She said nothing more to the doctor and just quietly stood up from her seat then left the clinic.
Lisa is in the car, stunned as she thought about Jennie's condition. Later on, she didn't realize there's a tears flowing into her cheeks. Due to her intense emotions, Lisa repeatedly slammed the stirring wheel. "Why?! Why is this happening?", Lisa whispered and bit her lips as she was trying to hold her tears. She then received a sudden phone call to Dahyun. She cleared her throat before answering the call.
