Jennie's POV
I came this morning from the cemetery and visited my father's grave as well as my mother's. Then, I went to the hospital to visit her. As soon as I entered, I immediately went to her room. There were a lot of people around and I could smell the disinfectant everywhere.
Now, I'm facing the door to her room. I took a deep breath as I held the doorknob. When I opened the door, still nothing new. All I could hear was the buzzing of the fluorescent lights in the ceiling, the sighing of the ventilator, the beeping sound of the heart monitor, and other devices that were attached to her.
I slowly walked towards the table near her. I removed the dried flowers that I just brought yesterday and replaced them with a new one. Then, I sat next to Lisa. It's been 3days since that incident happened and it's the third day she was still unconscious.
I took the wet wipes inside the drawer and wiped her both arms and hands with them. "Hey, wake up now". I softly whispered. I held her right hand and gently caressed it. I kissed her hand and brought it to my face so I could feel the warmth of her palm. Then I look at her innocent face. I curved a soft smile as I find her still beautiful even though she is sleeping.
"Lisa, you need to wake up now..." I put down her hand and also, wiped her face.
I fixed some of the strands of hair blocking her face. I stopped for a moment and stare at her face. Then, I realized that my tears stream down my cheeks. I'm crying because I remember that night again. That night I thought I was going to lose her forever. I thought it was too late for us. And that was the end of our story. Thank God, she fought for her life and survived until her surgery was over.
I softly kissed her forehead and then on her cheek. "I love you, Lisa. P~Please....wake up", I whispered in her ear.
I heard a knock and the door suddenly opened. I immediately wiped out my tears and stood up. I looked back and saw Officer Jungkook standing near the door. He greeted me with a smile. I forcibly smile as my response to him.
"She still hasn't woken up since then?". He sadly asked and I simply nod at him.
"Have a sit and stay comfortable. What do you like? Water? Juice? Coffee? Tea?", I offered.
"I'm fine with tea". Then he sat on the couch.
"You want cookies? I baked all of these. Here...Try some." I smiled at him and put down the cookies along with his tea on the table. "Enjoy", I said.
"Thank you, Mrs. Manoban". He acknowledged me as Lisa's wife. It made me startled and at the same time gives a pleasant sensation to my ears.
I sat on the opposite couch. We started talking about the incident and then he followed up with some information about Taehyung's case and its situation inside the jail. After an hour of having a conversation with him, he bid his goodbye and decided to go for the reason that he had other things to do after this. He just come by to inform me about the case and also give something to me.
"By the way, Mrs. Manoban, I almost forgot. Here." The officer took something inside his coat. I was surprised when he handed me a letter and that familiar small box. Yes, I remember it was the same ring case that Taehyung showed me that time before the incident happened.
"Sorry, but it does not belong to me. Can you bring it back to him? Tell him I don't need that thing. Thank you." I refused. But Officer Jungkook still insisted me to take those things. He left that's why I have no choice but to accept this.
Afterward, I cleaned the cup and saucer that were used earlier. Then I came back and sat next to Lisa again. I am now holding this letter and the small box that the Officer gave me a while ago.
