~ Author's Note ~

I was planning on adding the bombing in Vienna, but once I got writing I noticed it really didn't fit with the chapter. Sorry, if it's short. (Even though it still has over a thousand words, lol)

Lyrics belong to Taylor Swift, song Wildest Dreams

Nothing lasts forever, But this is gonna take me down

London

She is supposed to be on her way to Vienna.

It was supposed to be a direct flight to Vienna, that's what she told Tony. She is going to represent all of the Avengers in the signing of the Accords. Natasha didn't plan on stopping in London, but she had to stop and check on Steve.

She didn't want him to be alone.

Natasha slips into the back pew after the ceremony has begun. She watches quietly, observing all the other people settled in the congregation. She spies Steve up in the front, Sam sitting beside him.

The redhead notices how Steve's attention strays from the conversations around him. He was not paying any attention to the Priest, and she watches Sam nudge him toward the new person in the room. Steve glances up, taking a deep breath as his red-rimmed eyes focus on the figure behind the podium.

"Margaret Carter was known to most as the founder of SHIELD," Sharon glances around the room, her brown eyes pausing on Steve. "but I just knew her as Aunt Peggy."

Steve takes a deep breath, his eyes widening. He knew she wasn't a nurse. She had been a SHIELD agent before the takedown of HYDRA, but he never knew her last name.

Sharon Carter.

She's the niece of Peggy Carter. She's related to one of the last ties to his past from before the ice. He never even knew.

"She had a photograph in her office." Sharon smiles, as the memory starts to cloud her mind. "Aunt Peggy standing next to JFK, as a kid, that was pretty cool, but it was a lot to live up to. Which is why I never told anyone we were related."

Natasha watches as the blonde looks directly at Steve, as she finishes her sentence. She tries to ignore that feeling that starts to form in her chest.

She has never felt this before.

Sharon swallows, "I asked her once how she managed to master diplomacy and espionage in a time when no one wanted to see a woman succeed at either. And she said compromise where you can. But where you can't, don't." Steve glances down, "Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye and say, "No, you move."
