A pair of (e/c) irises eye the blonde in a scrutinizing manner, although because of sheer interest and maybe a glint of excitement. The older (L/n)'s stares still made Inui Seishu self-conscious.

Was he overdressed? He was sure to pick out the most flattering (but not too overbearing) outfit for meeting the parent day-- a light blue, short-sleeved, button-up shirt that complimented well with his clean white pants and his favorite high-heeled boots.

Was he underdressed then? Or maybe there was something with how he appeared today? However, looking at you, gazing at him with such bliss in your expression, and not removing your gaze at him after he had walked in the door makes him want to think differently.

"Mom, you're going to scare him away. Stop staring," you uttered, earning your mother's attention.

"Aw, sorry. Did I make you feel awkward?" Inui responds by shaking his head profusely.

The woman smiles before going on, "It's just I've heard a lot of good things about you from (Y/n). And she's right about meeting you in person. Not only that you seem like a good person, but you're handsome too."

The blonde unconsciously places his hand on top of his nape and blushed, "T-thank you Ma'am. Ah-" he paused, realizing something.

"I'm sorry for not introducing myself personally. I'm Inui Seishu, a 3rd-year mechanical engineering student. And I'm your daughter's boyfriend. It's nice to meet you Missus (L/n)" he then bows respectfully.

Your mom quickly turns her head towards you and shoots you a meaningful look. You could only raise your eyebrows and smile pridefully as if telling her 'That's my boyfriend.'

"That's fine Inui. It was me who appeared rude for staring at you like that," she chuckles lightheartedly, "You've already made a good impression. As a mother, it's good to know that my daughter is surrounded by good people like you. She might be a handful at times, but please continue to have a happy and healthy relationship with her."

Inui glances at you before returning his gaze to your mother, "Of course, I plan to be with her for a long time."

The older (L/n) then walks toward him and gives him a quick embrace. Inui could only feel relief and warmth swell in his chest, knowing that he had successfully earned your mother's favor.

"Thank you, Inui."

(M/n) breaks off from the hug and taps on the male's shoulder and turns her back against him, walking towards you. "Since your boyfriend's here, I think I need to go back to Hakone to formally file my leave. Don't be such trouble to him, okay?" she uttered before planting a kiss on top of your forehead.

You crossed your arms across your chest and slightly pouted, "I'm not a kid any more mom."

She chuckles before picking up her bag from the chair beside your bed and marching towards the door, "I'm leaving her to you Inui. I left my business card on top of the table. Call me if anything happens, okay? I'll be back sometime before dawn."
