Sairah squished the Dory plush toy in her hands that same night.
"Do you like it? Think you can hold onto her for me? I'm sure she'd love to keep Marvin company." Leigh-Anne was looking all over for the toy she had just mentioned. She had come home with Marcy about thirty minutes ago and had instantly hopped in the shower to wash the day off her body. Before going into the store to buy the Dory plushie, she'd felt very self-conscious about her love for stuffed toys but entering the world of plushies had really cheered her up and Marcy had helped with that by making quirky jokes as they searched for what they wanted. She ended up leaving with a smile on her face and a more positive thought process.
Getting in the shower and reflecting on things while the water ran on her body had made her feel a bit down again but she had tried to ward off those thoughts by cuddling Kyro before bringing Dory to Sairah's room. She was to start taking her new pills tomorrow but Marcy would be holding onto them because of her remarks at the party on Saturday.
Sairah held Dory in one hand and looked at Leigh to answer. Her sister was dressed in puppy themed pyjamas and it made her smile. Puppy pants. But she couldn't say that out loud. "It's great. Too bad I've never seen the Dory version of Finding Nemo. Do they have one for Marvin too?"
"No. Just Finding Nemo and Finding Dory- hey where do you keep Marvin?" Leigh was here and she could not see him so she had to ask.
"Oh." Sairah walked over to one of her drawers and opened it. It was empty aside from the Marvin plush. "Right here."
Leigh patted her chin with curled fists. "Why in that dark drawer Sairah?"
"I don't know. So he can be safe until I need him again?" She sighed as she looked to her bed which felt empty without Jade. Jade's mom had been discharged from the hospital since Sunday so Jade had left on that day too. Sairah had thought that it wouldn't be a big deal but her bed felt kind of empty without her younger partner. And Marcy and Leigh weren't around for a lot of the night and we didn't have a meeting with the company today. Not to mention that their dad was gone too. It was safe to say that Sairah had felt lonely while waiting for Marcy and Leigh-Anne to come home. I texted Jade a bit so that was nice. But the house had felt so big while she'd been alone. Was it always this big?
"And when would that be?" Leigh-Anne tilted her head.
"When we both split up for different projects again and you need to hold Marvin while I hold Nemo? You know like what we did over the summer? Yeah." Sairah brought Dory to the drawer too.
Leigh watched her place Dory next to Marvin and then pat her head. "I don't know if I'll be able to let go of Nemo for a while."
"Why? 'Cause some freak wanted to steal and sell him? Humph. If I was there I woulda beat the crap outta that guy but I wasn't so all I did was stay home and chill." Sairah shook her head. "You should have hired me to be your body guard Leigh. I wouldn't hold back."
Leigh smiled a bit at that until she realized something. "If you'd have beat him up he might have pressed charges."
"So?" Sairah didn't care.
"You could have gone to jail and it would be sad because jail isn't fun." Leigh-Anne explained.
"I guess so." Sairah shrugged. She proceeded to close her drawer next but Leigh stopped her.
"Maybe you can put them on top of your book shelf. You know, somewhere less dark and cold?" Leigh-Anne suggested.
Sairah folded her arms. "When you carry Nemo around he's got to stay in your bag which is dark and cold so why is it so bad that I wanna keep mine in here?"
