Leigh-Anne was petting the kitten before bed that same night. It was actually around one a.m.
"So now we've got a kitten." She said with a giggle.
"Yup we do." Marcy was standing in her doorway. She had brought Leigh something to eat right after the girl had gotten into her pyjamas. She and Sairah were here for a bit of dialogue before they all retired. Aww she looks so tired.
Leigh lifted the kitten to look into its eyes. She pushed her nose up to its own and felt a tiny lick. "He's so cute."
"Jungkook wants us to call it something stupid like 'Kook the Cat' but I was thinking his name should be Jade." Sairah was recording the kitten for her Instagram. She held her phone up to Leigh's face. "Video for Instagram?"
Leigh used the kitten to cover it. "Don't put me in it."
Sairah stopped the video and watched it over. "Should I just cut you out or . . ."
Leigh looked at it with her sister and shrugged. "I guess that's good. I'm not in it for long and I can't just hide away forever so . . ."
"And you're also in my Instagram pictures and videos so it's not so bad." Marcy found it really sad how scared Leigh was of appearing as herself to people. "You said you were okay with what I posted when I asked."
"Yeah that's true." Leigh was staring at their new kitten. "Where will he stay over night? He's not trained like Kyro is." She looked at her dog who was lying lazily in his dog bed on the floor.
"I have a place made for him so don't you worry about that." Marcy came in and took the unnamed cat. "All you should be thinking of is going to bed. You've got shooting for Truth Hurts all day until you appear on Make It Work live so you need to rest."
"When people say something is live that means it's like . . . happening at the same time people are watching?" Sairah was posting the short video of the kitten on Leigh's lap.
"Pretty much." Marcy nodded.
Leigh-Anne gulped. "I'm bringing Princeton and Ray Ray with me for moral support . . . or more like they'll be coming for moral support but I'm still nervous. Do a lot of people watch that show? Princeton gave me a whole course on it last night but the course was kind of more about what the judges say and stuff like that." She yawned.
"It's a show about models and clothes. I don't think a lot of people would care about that shit." Sairah wondered if Leigh would let her stay in her bed. No. I can't just keep sleeping with people. She was being weird.
Marcy had been about to speak when Sairah did. Now that Sairah was done, she could say her piece. "Actually-"
"Okay." Leigh breathed a bit easier. "But Princeton likes that stuff so maybe-"
"He seems like an odd one. He's maybe their only viewer. He and 'Ray-Ray'. Why do your friends have those kinds of names? Why don't you know anyone called Bob?" Sairah sounded peeved.
Leigh placed hands on her hips. "Says the girl whose friends with people with names like Ziggy, Hex and Shaggy."
"You know reggae singers Sairah??" Marcy's eyes were wide.
Sairah fanned Marcy off. "She's talking about people from the neighbourhood."
"Oh." Marcy's shoulders fell. "Leigh-Anne didn't you do research on the show?"
Leigh yawned again. "I did. I know everything about the judges and the contestants- oh and the host. I researched as thoroughly as I- yawn- sorry. As I could so I think I'm more or less ready apart from my new found camera shyness when it comes to me just being me in front of people but . . ." She rubbed her eyes.
