Jade, Sairah and the rest of their gaming company went out to celebrate the success of their newly released games. It was a cool and windy Saturday night and they were having pizza at the town's park under a shady tree.
"So I told him; I know the girl. She's practically my boss." Jin just made a joke that made a few of them laugh. The benches and table were not big enough to hold them all so some were standing.
Jade and Sairah were sitting before Namjoon and Jin, having their own conversation while other members of the company stood around chatting about varying topics.
"Glad you can boast about knowing me." Jade smiled tightly as Jin laughed.
Jin placed a heavy hand on Namjoon's shoulder and held his head down in hysterics. He flung it back and released another howl of laughter before pretending to wipe a tear away from his eye and facing the girls. "After I said that everybody at the bank turned to look at me then I had to explain the arrangement of our company and so on and so forth. They were quite intrigued by what was said. Yes, yes quite intrigued."
"Good to know." Namjoon had not seen anything to laugh at in that story but he supposed that Jin's sense of humour was strange. "What were you doing at the bank exactly?"
"Offering janitorial services for extra cash." Jin picked up three slices of pizza at once and proceeded to eat them altogether. "This look doesn't just happen people."
"I always wanted to ask how you looked like that. You're all . . . you remind me of the stuff Jade watches. The manga." Sairah pointed at her partner.
"I think you might be thinking of anime." Jade said. "Manga isn't detailed enough to-"
"-be compared to my devilishly handsome appearance? I know." Jin seemed to be feeling confident this evening. "But we're not here to talk about me. It's a celebration of the genius that went into our games and brought them to the levels that they are now!" He stuffed the rest of the pizzas in his mouth and then threw fists into the air.
Namjoon could not get enough of this guy. "I'd ask if he was drunk but we've been out all night and I haven't seen him drinking."
Jade was very glad to see Jin so upbeat. He never let his situation keep him down but tonight he seemed even more elated than he usually was. "We shoulda bought a few beers then. To make everyone even more merry. What do you say?"
Sairah laughed. "We got sodas already. We don't need to add alcohol to the mix."
"I forgot, were you trying to stay sober Sairah?" Namjoon did not get to sit and talk to her one on one since they mainly interacted through work so he would surely be using this outing to get to know her better.
"I wasn't a drinker back in the day but if I'm staying away from cigarettes then might as well keep my distance from alcohol too." Sairah was on her fifth slice of pizza.
"Oh right." Jade sometimes forgot about Sairah's sobriety. More like being clean of cigarettes but all drugs are probably a bad idea for someone with a history of addicts in their family. "Well sodas will have to do for tonight."
"We could drink and she could not." Jin was picking up another slice.
"Well . . ." Jade was not sure.
"I don't really care what you do." Sairah was eating yet another slice because she had devoured her fifth quickly.
"Oop. There it is. Aye!" Jin climbed onto the seat of his bench. "Toadstool! Gather some drinks for the gang in honour of this occasion. My treat!" He pulled out his purse and tossed some wads of cash out of it.
