“Good day, Mister. I hope that I was of help you.” I said patiently. Corey and the others stared at me in shock. The man got frustrated and just walked away.

I pressed my finger against my cheek with a slight wince. “Well that was very uneventful. Let’s continue on shopping.” I said. They didn’t know what to say.

This was not new for me. I kept a fake smile on my face. My stomach was upset with all the blood I swallowed. I excused myself after I finished using up my budget.

I went into the iphone store. I got a new phone and a pair of wireless headphones. I had a phone plan so I don’t have to worry about buying minutes every month for my phone. I was setting it up at the place we all agreed on meeting at.

“How did you get a new phone? I thought you used up all your money.” Corey said. I glanced up at him. “I still have money from Mr. Laker. He paid me for reading to him in the past.” I said.

I flinched when he touched my cheek. He apologized, but raised my chin up into the light. He studied the bruise already forming there.

“You took quite the hit back there.” He commented. I smiled softly and returned to my phone. I connected my headphones to it. I played music and waited for the others to finish.

I yawned sleepily when they finally said we could leave. Ambrose was ticked that I was hurt. “Ambrose, I’m fine.” I assured. Liam whispered into Ambrose’s ear. Ambrose looked at him and gave a brief nod. “Boys, go put your stuff down. We all need to have a talk.” Ambrose said.
