"I'm Ambrose. Harrison is in my custody. His grandma abused him.” Ambrose said, shaking my fathers hand.
“She sold him to adults in town. Harrison had to run from his predators in the woods at night. She sold him to an adult while he was in my custody. He was raped." Ambrose explained. I cuddled up against him. Ambrose ran his fingers through my hair. I yawned softly and looked at them. Mom was upset.
“I’m so sorry Harrison. I didn’t mean for this to happen.” Mom said. I felt bad for her as she started crying. I slid out of Ambrose’s arms and went to her.
“Mom, it’s okay. I’m fine now. Ambrose and the other boys had helped me since then. I’m doing better now.” I said. I hugged her tightly, tucking my head under her chin. She let out a low pur. I smiled softly. My dad and Ambrose were talking in low voices.
Mom had me close to her chest. I purred in response in happiness. Dad sighed quietly, then sat beside us. “Harrison, I’m sorry for leaving you. I am an informant and a vampire. I was called in by the government. I couldn’t tell anyone and take you with us.” Dad informed us.
“Amy had to come with me. Your mother was also called by the government to keep at my side.” Dad apologized. I pulled him into the hug. I snuggled against them. Ambrose had a slight smile as my purrs grew louder. Dad smiled gladly at my forgiveness.
