Today is a slow day. I was on my phone looking up college’s nearby. “Are you looking for a college?” a kind male voice asked. I chuckled softly, nodding, not looking up.
“Yeah. I’m looking for a close one so that I don’t have to move. And take care of this one at the same time.” I said. I glanced up only to freeze entirely.
Key was standing right in front of me with Cydall. I straighten up not saying anything. They were shocked as well. “Mommy? Can I have one of my lollipops?” Mia asked.
She broke me out of my trance. I gave a tight lipped smile to them. I took a lollipop out of my bag. I handed it to her. “Mia, mommy will be right back. Don’t talk to strangers.” I warned.
I led Key and Cydall away. We stood out of earshot of Mia but stayed in sight. “How are you, Harrison? Is that your daughter?” Key asked. I bit my lower lip softly. I kept glancing back at her.
“I’m doing pretty okay. I’ve been dealing with my divorce and custody battles for a year. Then I made the big move back here. Mia is my biological daughter.” I said quietly. I looked up to meet their eyes. Cydall and Key pulled me into a hug.
Key and Cydall handed me their numbers. “If you need anything please call one of us. We all missed you.” Cydall admitted. I smiled at them weakly.
“I will thank you. I would like to meet up to apologize for everything. So here is my number as well.” I stated sheepishly.
So we exchanged numbers quickly before I had to go back to work. Mia was coloring with other kids whose parents/older siblings were looking for books or hanging out.
I missed this little town even if all the trauma happened here. Most of the inhabitants are amazing. There is pros and cons about the town just like every town.
