"She resigned, Sir," tugon ni Vilma sa kabilang linya at napatiim-bagang ako sa sarili.
"When?"
"Yesterday, Sir. I told her about her new assignment, and she handed her ID back and resignation."
I ended the call and I feel like I want to punch someone on the face. I stood up, grab my leather coat and strode heavily towards the door. Sinalubong ako ni Cassandra at ibinigay ang information ni Gaige sa application form niya. Hiningi ko ito sa kaniya kanina.
"Sir, um - "
"That's fine. This is fine," I said coldly and walked away. I fished out my phone in my pocket as Xavion called.
"What's up?" tugon niya sa kabilang linya.
"Do you know how to locate someone?" tiim-bagang ko habang papalakad sa kotse. I heard him chuckle in the line. This agent idiot is giving me shit sometimes.
"Art, I know how to do that, but I can't, bro. The last time I did it, Papa caught me, and I'm grounded in this area. Kaya pasensya na, bro. Importante ba?"
I inhaled deeply out of frustration and fastened my seatbelt. I went quiet for a couple of seconds, and then Xavion spoke.
"Huhulaan ko, si Gaige na naman ba ito?" bahagyang tawa niya sa kabilang linya.
"Dammit, bro," I bitterly swore in the line.
"What? And let me guess? You lost her again, don't you?" pagpatuloy na tawa niya.
I swore countless times in silence, and my jaw clenched. I started the ignition of the car and drove it.
There's no point talking to him as of the moment. Wala siya ngayon sa Maynila dahil nasa Isla ng Palau siya, sa territoryo niya.
"You are grounded and been thrown hundred miles away?" I smirked and he went quite. Nahulaan ko rin kung nasaan siya ngayon.
"Do you want to come over? Join me. I need a company," he said jokingly.
"Damn it, find someone that you can fuck, Xavion. Hindi ako pumapatol sa'yo," pabirong tugon ko at natawa na siya.
"I'll be back in two days, bro. Nagpapalamig lang ako. Mainit kasi ako kay Papa at hinahanap ako ni Mama. Mas mabuting mabaliw na muna sila ng konti," tugon niya sa kabilang linya.
"Okay. Then enjoy! I'll catch up with you when you get back."
"No worries. See you then, and I will help you when I get back, okay?" he said, and right after that, I ended the call.
Napatingin ako sa rear view mirror at napabuntonghininga sa sarili. Ngayon hindi ko alam kung saan ko ulit siya hahanapin. Pero kahit papaano ay may address ako sa Probinsya na kung nasaan siya nangaling.
Umiwi siguro siya sa Probinsya nila? Hindi ko alam. . . Magulo pa ang isip ko ngayon dahil pinatawag ulit ako ni Papa, para sa importanteng detalya tungkol sa negosyo na nasa Japan.

Nang makarating sa mansion ay sinalubong ako ng dalawang katulong ni Mama. I saw my mother straight away in the hallway when I went inside.
"Atticus! My baby," agad na yakap niya.
"I miss you so much, Anak. I'm glad you came," she said and caressed my face.
Humalik na ako sa pisngi ng ina ko at kumunot agad ang noo niya habang nakatitig sa kabuuan ng mukha ko.
