Chapter 15

"STOP! There's something shiny." Flo shrieked and I froze on the spot. She huddled closer towards the 'shiny' thing she found and I followed her. She took it, held it up and revealed a two dollar coin.

"What luck." She sighed dramatically and slid it inside her pocket shorts. I stopped her arm and looked around.

"What if it's somebody's and accidentally dropped it?"

We both scanned the area around us, but the walkway was deserted, which meant one thing...

"Finders keepers!" Flo cheered and patted her pocket, I rolled my eyes checked the time from the screen of my phone.

"Shoot, it's almost five," I cursed, "I gotta go Flo."

"Oh really? Are you only saying that because I'm annoying?" She teased. I poked my tongue out and laughed.

"You know I'll never get annoyed by you." I said.

"Wait!" Flo said and went back inside her house. I followed her behind, but she was quick and was holding a plastic bag with one hand.

She shoo'ed me from her place jokingly, "Here, take my mum's home made lasagna."

"Oh wow! Tell your mum I said thanks." I said and accepted the plastic bag.

"Will do!"

I walked out of Flo's house and towards the bus stop, where they should arrive at 5:05pm. The aroma of the food was so strong, that some of my saliva almost had their attempt to escape out of my mouth. I took my phone out, and realized that I received a text from Ace.

Ace: Dota?

Ivy: Sorry, school night

Ace: Not even a small peek of what I just did??

Ivy: soz bud

Ace: :( wud lol

Ivy: About to catch a bus home hbu?

Ace: what do you think.

I rolled my eyes and smiled.

Ivy: shh, I know it already

My phone vibrated on my palm and I read the screen. I chuckled and swiped to answer.

"What do you want?"

"Mean," I could imagine Ace pouting, "I called you to say hi."

"Hi." I smiled.

"So how long until the bus comes?"

"A couple of minutes, we can do a quick chat I suppose." I said and whilst checking the time.

"Great! I have a gossip for you." His voice turned into a whisper. I cradled my phone close to my ear and giggled.

"What is it?" I whispered back.

There was a long pause.

"Well I-"

"Ayeeee Ivoraaaaaye!" A voice shouted through the phone. I could hear some slapping on the other side and I giggled, "Hello there Alex."

"Why are you guys whispering, is it loveee?" He hooted and I blushed.

"Alex shut the fück up." Ace groaned, "Sorry he just had a bit of sugary stuff."

"Nah it's all good!" I assured. I saw the peak of the hill and a small view of the bus coming on my way, "Hey Ace? I gotta go. Bus is coming."
