Chapter 8

     "You went where?!" Flo shouted.

"Calm down, you're not even on speaker and yet you're screaming to the limit." I whispered.

"This matter needs me screaming, alright!" She said and toned her voice down a little, "You visiting their house is a big thing!"

Okay, so I told her about visiting Ace's and Alex's house (she hyperventilate when I said his name). I thought she'd be calm and told me that it's cool, or alright. But no.

"You should've invited me." She hissed.

"I didn't know he's going to be there! He just came out of nowhere --  well, not literally nowhere because he unlocked the freaking door -- and boom! He appeared." I explained exasperatedly.

"Ugh, okay fine I'll forgive you for that one. What did you guys do?"

"We ate some Pocky, and decided to bake some cookies, which turned out into a major food fight-"

"You had a food fight?!" She yelled again, "I seriously feel like I'm missing the biggest event of my life."

"Well not really food fight, more like cookie fight? Hehe, get it?" I stifled a giggle at my made-up pun, but she had other thoughts in mind.

"Oh my god." Flo said and I could imagine her shaking her head while doing so.

I was on a phone call with her right after I arrived home at five o'clock. Like mum's promise, I came right before six, and that's when the time told me the 'no no' situation if I passed the time.

It was actually a really fun visit, and that included the cookie fight. I did feel bad about messing up their house, but they told me not to worry, and that includes Alex who told me that Ace could handle all the mess, since he's the 'anti-clean type'. Ace hit him in the arm, which I never seen him in this way, and said that I should go home and clean myself up.

It was fifteen past six, which meant family dinner time. We all had a chance to help mum do the dinner; such as preparing the dishes, cutlery and glasses. When we were all settled, mum placed a tub from the rice cooker filled with cooked rice and we all served ourselves.

"So how's your project going?" Mum said in a conversational manner. Thank goodness I took the shower before my parents came, or else they'd be asking me a lot of questions.

"It's good, it's good. We started planning on our designs and how it would look like." I replied and spooned the rice off my plate with curry. Arine looked up at me confused.

"What car? Are you making a car that's like ours?"

I started explaining to her what Ace and I did and our project task. She seemed to get it, but only a little bit. I don't mind her though, she was only in year six.

"So, you girls have fun while doing so?" Dad asked. I lowered my gaze and took a slow sip of my water.

"He's a boy dad, and no, we're not dating."

He did a hearty laugh before settling back to eating, "I didn't ask you about your relationship status, did I? But now I'm merely interested."

"If I find out she's dating, I'll grab a butcher knife and I'll chop you!" Mum joked, but I knew deep inside that she wasn't.

I finished my curry with rice and placed it on the sink. I quickly ran back to the study room and continued doing my homework, then, two hours later, I set for my bedtime and went to my bedroom. I laid down on my bed and stared up at the ceiling.
