Chapter 24 - Twenty Questions

"Hurry up Ivy, I need to grab my bike soon." Flo pressured me as I quickly tied my shoelaces together.

"Kay, just grab my bag and we run."

I stood up with my two feet and she handed me my bag.

"Holy schnitzel girl, your bag is heavier than mine." She huffed.

"A girl gotta learn." I winked.

The school bell went and we all rushed out of the gym. Flo and I went straight towards the bike area, where students park their bicycles in there but I was already out of breath. Stupid beep test and my score.

Flo wheeled hers out of the gate and waved me to come. I haven't done this in a quite long time, so hopping on the basket of the bike was really hard for me.

"All settled?" She asked. I nodded and held a deathly grip on the sides of the basket. I better not fall and leave a concussion before her birthday party.

Flo wheeled her bike more faster before she hopped on it. She began cycling normally and peered above my shoulder once in a while to see where she was going.

"Your fat arse is hard not to miss." She joked.

"Are you jealous?" I teased.

"Very much, you should've auditioned to be a part of the Anaconda music video." She said sarcastically.

"Is there not a day where I don't have to listen something relatable about the friggin' song?" I groaned.

"Nope. Hey I should hold a twerking competition." She pondered.

I shuddered at the idea, "No way José, that's a horrible idea. Imagine people twerking everywhere. Just... weird."

"Whatever Ivy. Hey, you got your overnight bag with you right?"

"The reason why my bag's heavy today." And also her present. My parents let me have a sleepover at her place, since it was the weekend tomorrow. Little did they know I was attending a party that might consume alcohol. I don't know. Anything could happen tonight.

I could see the familiar house nearing our presence and Flo slowed her bike down. She parked it in front of her garage and I hopped off the basket, brushing off the crinkles on my shorts. She walked up to the front door and took her house key. I trailed behind her and hoped her brother Farrel would be gone, but when she swung the door open, I could see chestnut brown hair mopped on the couch, watching the television.

"I'm home brutha'!" Flo cheered and dropped her bag on the floor. Farrel's head snapped towards us and his eyes swept from Flo's to mine. His mysterious, pair of midnight blues locked onto my stare and I was the first to looked away.

Don't get me wrong, he was really attractive with his Brooklyn Beckham haircut and those amazing eyes. He was tall and lean, and I was pretty sure he got abs from all those AFL games. I had been to some of his games before, and I could assure you that he was a really good player in his team. Girls on the rally would fangirl over his presence in-game, but what caught me by surprise was that he was into me.
