Chapter 6
It was a beautiful Saturday morning, something I would wake up to at ten o'clock. It was eight something in the morning, and I saw bright light flooding through the small gap of the blinds. Sun was probably up rised by the time it was six o'clock. That was one thing I hated about Summer.
I lazily took my phone out from under my pillow and turned it on. Weekends like those, I get to read one to two hours of Wattpad until my eyes blurred. I knew that it was a bad habit, but Wattpad was like an addict to me.
'Til now.
Suddenly, my bedroom door slammed opened and lights started to fill onto my room. Mum stood in the doorway and held on to the handle. I quickly shoved my phone underneath the blanket, close to my body, and pretended to be startled and awake.
"Wake up! Today's a busy day!" Mum cheered and she went to the other side of the room to open the blinds. When she spread it wide open, my eyes were blinded from the sudden brightness.
"Mum!" I groaned. She grabbed the corner of the blanket and tried to pull it down, but luckily I was quick enough to grab a hold of it. She sighed with disappointment and walked out of the room. I had to deal with a morning mum every week.
Arine came to my room next and tugged down the blanket unexpectedly. I gasped and tried to hide my phone, but she knew it straight away and took it from my grasp.
"Let me see what cheesy flick you're reading now." She snickered and scrolled down the page, "'I lo-hate you too Hunter.'" (Credits to Mailboy).
"Give it back." I groaned.
She outreached from my hand and started scrolling down more, "You're so cheesy, gosh. Ever tried reading something else before mum sees this?"
I finally snatched the phone off her hand, "I prefer Romance thanks. If you tell mum about this, I swear I'll tell her about-"
"I wasn't planning to, sheesh! I'll get out now." She stormed out of my room and I quickly went back to what she read before. I blushed madly when the guy almost confessed to the girl. My heart swelled too much at this.
After reading ten minutes of fangirling-and-heart-swelling-moments, I puffed up my pillows and neatly folded my blankets. I opened the windows, so fresh air could come in to my frozen bedroom. I smelt the familiar fried bananas and I quickly ran to the kitchen counter. My whole family stood around a plateful of one of my favourite food with it on their hands.
"You're too late, no more for you." Arine said and shuffled the plate more to her side. Mum hit her in the arm playfully and took the plate back, "We don't want your smell to stick on to the bananas."
I laughed and enjoyed the hearty Asian breakfast. We drank tea, which wasn't really ideal for a hot, Spring morning, but who gives? It's tea.
I did my usual chores, which was drying the dishes from the dishwasher and vacuuming the whole house for that day. When I finished, I lazily sat down on the couch and watched a television show. I didn't take a shower yet, and if someone dared to get close by five meters mark, they'd probably stay away from me.
Half an hour later, I heard some murmurs that came from outside. I didn't hesitate to move an inch from my spot and kept watching my favourite show, Dance Academy. Mum then came inside the living room, all fresh and new from her morning glory shower, and Flo behind her.
"Don't even ask why she didn't take a shower yet." Mum said and rolled her eyes, "Well, I'll leave you too now. Have fun girls!"
I raised and eyebrow, "What does she mean by that?"
