Chapter 20

"So about my birthday party, I'm not completely sure if my parents are going to be away that night."

Flo and I was walking around the senior area, waiting for our third period. The question brought me to curiosity, and made me wonder; what kind of party would she be holding?

"Why so subtle? Are you planning to get wasted?" I questioned.

She didn't answer.

Writing the last bit of my terminology for Science was hard enough. Well, not as hard, since it was about Chemistry. As my class went down the periodic table, I didn't know what the element for U anymore. Luckily, my teacher reminded us that we would be provided with one on the test that was coming up soon. Spare me a moment.

Today was my favourite day out of the five school days. A day before weekend commence sounds great to me, since at lunchtime there would be a fun performance happening.

"Just make sure you remember about safe-sex Flo, not all of us want a child at the age of sixteen." I warned.

"Who says I'm having sex anyway? I'm just going to take small sips and that's it." She said firmly. I narrowed my eyes at her and scoffed lightly.

"Just a precaution there, you never know what goes around." I said lightly. I checked the time on my phone and looked up, "I gotta go."

"Right, bye!" She said and I waved back. I rushed towards the T&E area and revised what I was about to say. Once I reached towards the staff area, I knocked on the door.

The door swung open and one of the staff looked at me. I recognized him as one of the junior high school woodwork teacher and smiled.

"How may I help you?" He asked kindly. I shuffled my feet and tried to keep an eye contact.

"Uh yes. My friend and I have a project regarding the subject Discovering Technology. Both of us wants to make a car, but we need appropriate tools to cut the given woods to some pieces." I explained, "And we're wondering; are we allowed to use your woodwork class for this class project?"

The teacher had a thoughtful face, "What year are you in?"

"Year ten." I answered.

"When are you planning to use it?"

"As soon as possible, after school perhaps?"

I waited for his response.

"Does Tuesday after school sounds good to you? I know I can trust you, I've seen you around." Teacher offered.

My face lit up, "That sounds good!"

"Then it's settled. I'll wait after school by the door and wait until you and your friend arrive." He said.

"Thank you so much!" I said excitedly.

The teacher smiled in acknowledgement before he closed the door again. I held the grin before I exited the hallway. We were finally getting somewhere!

"You still haven't given me the selfies we took when we went out in Perth!" I jokingly accused. Well, not really a joke because it's true.

"Oh yeah, crap?" Ace laughed nervously.

I guess we silently agreed that we should forget about what happened yesterday. For the most part of me, I knew that it didn't mean as much, but deep deep deep deep inside, it does, and it hurts. Honestly? I'm glad it didn't cause a great impact on me yet.
