Chapter 32

"How the fuck do I switch weapons?!" Flo shrieked whilst furiously tapping randomly on the keyboard.

"Scroll the mouse- damn it Flo where are you going?" I yelled.

We were currently playing Team Fortress 2 on our desktops/laptops - much to Flo's dismay - doing variety of modes such as the classic Capture the Flag and Attack/Defence. It was one of our bucket list games after doing other Steam games Ace and Alex had so now it was my turn to contribute.

We were all playing different classes; I was playing as a Sniper, Ace was a Scout, Alex was a Spy and Flo was a Pyro. I basically had to find a spot that I could shoot from a distance and get a head shot, Ace's role was generally a runner, Alex back stabs players and Flo surrounds players with fire.

"Bitch." Flo scoffed, "How could you?"

On the right top corner, I saw a status announcing that Alex back stabbed Flo, "High five Alex." I cheered, and he laughed along with a five.

We basically made up by playing the first round of games, and neither of us complained after that. It was funny, but the conversation alone didn't help the fact that I was confused. I was damn sure that he was the culprit behind the scenes, but with his secretive smile and evocative wink, the doubts came back to me.

Headlock. I trained my sniper gun's target on Ace's head as he stopped to do something in-game. Just as I was about to pull the trigger, my character died from fire exhaustion.

"Payback's a bitch," She sneered, "good job Ace."

"Aye." He replied. He looked up at me with a twinkly set of gaze, which had caused my heart to squeeze a little. I refused to give in to his presence in-game and tilted my head up.

"I'll make sure to land a bullet on your head Stimpy." I said collectively.

"Game on Iceo." He countered back.

Then it was back to square one.

Alex tried to land back stabs on either Flo and Ace, but it was difficult for him as Ace's character runs quick and Flo could reveal his invisible Spy self. Meanwhile I tried to find an ideal spot to shoot their team members, but the map that we were paying is limited so whenever I tried to hide, their players spot me first.

We were on the back hand within one and a half hours.

"I think we should call it a night." I said, "You know, play other games like Dota?"

"You're only saying that because your in a losing team and that we're better players than you." Flo snickered.

"You got Ace who's also skilled at first-person shooting, so don't be an arrogant bitch." Alex scoffed, taking a sip of his wine.

"Just admit for the losing team Alex, sheesh. And mind the alcohol." Ace warned.

"Whatever man, I needed this night." He said.

"Rough break up? What's happening dude? And share the wine." Flo piped in.

Alex handed her the glass. Indirect kiss? Hah nah, "Some people I had to deal overseas. It's annoying af. Do you want some Ace?"

Ace looked at me, "Uh, nah I'll be sober tonight."

"Don't consider me; I'm alright." I said, waving my hand off to prove it.

"It's fine, I don't feel like it anyway." He stood up, "I'll get more cookies."

"Get the ones with goods too Ace!" Alex said.
