Chapter 1
"So have you heard?" My best friend Flo asked.
I raised an eyebrow, "Heard what?"
"Someone saw a new student." She said, "Apparently he's hot."
This perked up my interest, "Body hot...?"
She shrugged, "I don't know. We might see him around today. Oh my gosh I can't wait!"
I giggled, "Alright fangirl, let's get to our classes."
You might not understand the secret codes between us. Basically we gave out small nicknames to those who we found attractive, friend's enemy, friend's crush, all in our school, which was by case, not many. We named a couple in year eleven and one on our grade level. My favourite one was in year eleven.
His nickname was Darl.
"Darl's behind us." I hissed. Flo glanced behind us and grabbed my arm.
"Walk slowly, so we could see him better." Flo hissed back. I rolled my eyes and slowed our pace and pretended to walk normally, like spies in disguise.
Darl was overall attractive, like the look plus the body. He was a bodybuilder and had rippling arms and legs, which most girls fangirled about. He also got the smooth attractive look. What turned me off about him was that he wore tight shorts to school.
I narrowed my eyes to the left and expected him to walk in front of us. A friend of his, nicknamed B, pulled him away and bro hugged him. Flo and I groaned and quickly scurried away.
"Stupid B." She sighed. I patted her on the back and mentally laughed.
"Next time won't hurt." I assured her.
B was also in the same grade level as Darl. Theywere both best mates -- much to Flo and I's calculation and certainly killed Darl's reputation -- and they would always hang out on every break time. B wasn't as attractive as Darl (not even close) and was currently one of my friend's enemy.
Flo wasn't the only one who fangirled over Darl, there was a lot. Many girls dreamed of being close to him, and I remembered one time I told Flo that we accidentally brushed our shoulders together on the stairs. She squealed and chanted that it should be her who was there. Sometimes I pity her, because her chances are not high to be with him, but then I was always there to support her.
Then there was me.
Most definitely awkward, too nerdy and tends to be quiet. Unlike Flo, I don't have a guy to focus on, since my study was more important than them. Flo complained that I'm no fun since she had no one to tease with, which was really good. Out of the two, she was the one who brought me out of the sunshine and not creep out in the dark. We are definitely the opposite.
My first period was Discovering Technology. I sighed and quickly climbed up the stairs. When I reached up, I saw many boys flocked outside the classroom and chatted to another self. As usual, I lined up at the front since I couldn't be bothered being at the back. The line was too long for me to care.
Apparently the teacher was already pissed by the time he arrived, "Alright year tens! Be quiet and line up into one line. Now!"
I knew this class since the beginning of the year. I rolled my eyes when only a couple of people did as they were told. The rest ignored him and resumed talking. We eventually went inside the classroom and I automatically went to sit on my usual spot; the corner. I was the only girl in this subject, which meant that I am also the loner. The boys minded their own business and had their usual paper smack down, which consists of rolled up papers and smacks their opponents' thigh across from each other. It was stupid, but I guess it was something to remember this class by when the year ends. I am acquainted with some people in the class, but that was it.
