Chapter 7

It was another school day, students filled in to the building as they chat excitedly to one another. I stared out to the distance while I was waiting for my bestie and friend from their classes. I took out my chicken kebab and started munching on it. It was already five minutes passed and they haven't arrived yet. Warm breeze blew onto my face and the slightly cold and soggy kebab filled inside my mouth. Yuck.

I was about to finish my food, but then the two arrivals came. They were talking excitedly to each other and I couldn't help but to crash in.

"What's happening guys?" I piped in.

"Eh nothing much, just talking about food." Flo replied.

Of course.

"What kind?" I asked.

"We just came from cooking class and made macaroni cheese. It tastes delicious." Ace took a small foil container with a paper lid on it and placed it on top of his backpack. He lifted the lid carefully, and the aroma that came out of the container filled through my nose.

"Oh my god, let me have a taste!" I said excitedly. I didn't wait for his permission and snatched his food away. I also grabbed a fork from his hand and scooped a fresh-baked macaroni cheese. When I placed it on my mouth, tingles ran down my tongue as I savoured the taste.

"Hey!" He said and snatched the fork off me. Luckily I took a bite, or else I wouldn't taste the food.

"Why so mean?" I said and pouted. He poured some water from his bottle to the fork and wiped it with his shirt.

"Your saliva might taste icky." He replied and stabbed the food.

"How would you know? You haven't kissed her yet." Flo snickered. I blushed lightly and shook my head.

"Kissing does not involve saliva-related." Ace said with a matter-of-fact tone.

"Not unless you do a French kiss. That one certainly includes saliva, doesn't it?"

I choked on my bolus and Ace almost spurted out his food.

"That," I breathed, "was waaay too much information."

"You haven't heard of Ausse kiss." She grinned, "It's like French kiss-"

"Nope, not hearing that one." He said.

"-but down under." Flo finished. My eyes bulged out of the socket and covered my mouth with my hand.

"Flo!" I said with shock, "What the hell?"

"I didn't hear what she said. What did she say?" Ace asked. She looked at him amusedly and opened her mouth, but I beat her to it.

"Ace, you know what? It's better if you don't hear anything from her naughty mouth." I said and I heard Flo snickered next to me.

"Well, alright." He said and continued eating.

"By the way, where's Alex?" I haven't seen him at all since the start of the school.

"He's working on an assignment in the library. It'll be better if you don't disturb him." He replied. I snuck a glance at Flo, but she looked almost normal. I knew that behind all of her facade mask, she was probably sad right now.

"Oh cool, so have you heard of that new teacher?"

"Ugh, why is this class so boring." I groaned as the class erupted into boys' chatter. I leaned on my arms and slightly looked up at the front of the classroom. Everything seemed horrible.
