Chapter 12
"Wow."
We stood aside and stared at the ancient row of trees in front of us while the bus pulled up and drove away from us to its next destination.
Alex and Ace let their eyes wandered around the park and I could tell that it sparked their excitement. From up here, you could see the whole entire city, the freeways and the Swan River, one of the biggest tourist attraction to visit.
"Come on guys, don't just stand there." Flo chuckled. She took Ace's and Alex's hands and pulled them to the pathwalk. I trailed behind them and grinned. I took a guess and thought that they like it.
We all stopped at a viewing platform where people could view the city from here and take family pictures. I automatically went over and leaned onto the wooden edge. I admired the beautiful scene in front of me as I intake the cool air and pulled down my sunglasses. The day was getting sunny, thank god I applied some sunscreen before I head out.
"Come on Ivy, we're waiting for you!" Ace yelled through the excited crowd and I turned around. There stood my friends huddled close while Alex held up the selfie stick with one hand. I rolled my eyes and joined next to Flo.
"Okay everyone, stick your thumbs up!" Alex instructed.
We did as we were told and grinned. He pressed the button and snapped a few pictures. He quickly brought the stick down for all of us to see and opened up the gallery app. We all look really good, hence my crooked teeth.
"This is so fetch." He grinned.
"No one says that anymore." I rolled my eyes.
"Not true! Mean Girls fandoms probably uses that word too." Alex huffed.
"I have another word that starts with an 'f'," Flo piped in, "fabulous!"
"Yas!" I laughed and we both high fived. This time Ace rolled his eyes.
"It is a good picture, now who would like to be a tour guide?" He asked.
"I will, now follow me!" We all followed next to Flo as she started telling us a bit about Kings Park history.
✈
It was a tiresome journey. We only walked the way where it was popularly visited, and that includes the beautiful bed of botanic garden.
We all dropped down dead to the bench, exhausted. I wasn't used to walking around that long, so I was the most tired out of the four. Unfortunately, we didn't bring a source of liquid anywhere, even though there was a couple of tap water nearby, I just forgot to drink. In the end, we were all dehydrated and couldn't move a muscle.
I stared at the distance and stayed quiet. Flo stood up, and we all looked up at her. There was a few sweat on her forehead, but nevertheless, she looked fine.
"I'm gonna grab an ice cream, anyone else wanna join?" She asked.
"Me, I'll do with a few scoops." Alex joined in.
Flo looked at us expectantly, but Ace and I wearily shook our heads.
"Order a bottle of water for me please?" I asked. She nodded and glanced at Ace.
"Me too thanks." He said.
Flo nodded and hooked her arms with Alex, which he took found unexpectedly, but hesitantly did the same. They both sauntered off to the nearby cafe and I drew my gaze back.
