Chapter 21

Swish, swoosh.

I ran the vacuum stand back and forth, annoyed by the noise it created. It drowned the sound of the usual Saturday Disney, and Arine's voice. This became one of my chore a few years ago, as I quote from mum, "You gotta get your lazy bum off the chair or no laptop for a month!"

Mum could be a real Asian sometimes.

Double checked to see if the carpet's clean, I moved on to another section. It had been around twenty minutes, and my face began to sweat so much. It was one of those days when you're not outside and you still get the ridiculous heat coming from the glaring sun. Alright I get it, Summer didn't like me.

As do I.

"Ivy, Florence's calling!" Arine's voice hollered from the study room and I turned off the vacuum. I silently thanked her and took the home phone from her hand.

"What now?" I asked, feigning an annoyed expression.

"Happy Saturday!" Flo cheered through the phone. I winced at the sudden velocity, and rolled my eyes.

"Yes, you too." I grumbled, "You're disturbing my romantic session."

"Ooh! Did Ace come by and surprised you with chocolates and your gaming stuff and continued yous project?" I could imagine her wiggling her eyebrows.

"Oh yeah definitely!" I said sarcastically.

She paused, "Really?"

"No, this person's name starts with a V."

"Your routinely vacuum session?" She sighed.

"You got it."

"Man, you gotta spark up so romance in your life bro! So it'll be easier for me to tease you about." Flo groaned.

"Um nadah, nen, tidak, they cause too much trouble. Remember DFW?" I implored.

"Eh no, he's not part of your romantic gesture, we'll put him under the asshole category."

"Damn right." I laughed.

"Okay, back to why I wanna talk to you about." Flo said, "I heard the movie Unfriended got released a couple of days ago, wanna come?"

"But we went to the Mockingjay one last week!" I said.

"That was for my dejected time, and this time, we'll mix in a little proportion to keep it interesting." She giggled.

"I'm not liking the sound of that." I bit.

"The sound of what? The boy named Ace?"

This girl.

"Oh, right," I laughed nervously, "you planning to invite him?"

"Sure, if you don't mind." Her voice hinted like she wanted to test me. Hopefully she won't try to play matchmaker to both of us in the future.

"No I don't, when ya planning to tell him?" I asked.

"Hello?" A sleepy voice responded. I bit my bottom lip to prevent myself from saying anything.

"Oh hey Ace! Did we wake you up?" Flo asked.

"Kind of? I mean it is a Saturday morning." Ace mumbled.

"I agree." I second.

"Shuddup both of you. It's a beautiful sunny Saturday morning!" She said.

"Beautiful enough for me to cuddle in bed and take another snooze." He replied, "Now girls, if you don't mind..."

"NO! Wait I want to say something to you. Do you want to come to the cinema with Ivy and I?" Flo yelled.
