Eric here. I'm leaving the band because of health reasons, not because I want to. I didn't want to tell Bruce I was sick because I knew it would cut him to the core. Paul would have to take care of him for awhile.
Our last tour was coming up soon so I tried to rest as much as possible. Bruce practically begged to move in so he could take care of me. I told him no because he had a fiance and didn't need to worry about me. I moved back to New York and in with my family. Bruce called every night and came to visit me when he could.
Finally it was time for the tour to start again. I really got wiped out after every concert date but I made it through the tour.
Bruce mothered me after every show. He made sure I had lots of water and rest. It broke my heart when he would leave to go back to the hotel room alone. I finally handed the reins over to the second Eric and wished him the best of luck.
