I'm now the oldest in the band. Eric is a year younger and Paul and the new guitarist are a year apart. His name is Bruce Kulick and I can tell he's going to be an awesome presence. There's only one thing wrong with this new lineup. Eric's smitten with him and I'm jealous.

"Gene, Eric won't cheat on you, okay?" Said Paul from the doorway. "I promise. You do know that he is cute though right?"

"Yes, I know that Eric's cute."

"No, the new guitarist." came the reply.

"As cute as the road manager?" shot back Gene.

"Shut up." replies Paul.

We leave at the same time, Paul going one way and me the other. When we get to rehearsal, our new guitarist, Bruce, is standing there holding his guitar and staring at the floor. He looks up when the door opens and then back down. "Hi Bruce, are you ready to go over the set list?" asks Paul.

A nod tells me he's painfully shy. I give Paul and Eric the go ahead nod and pick up my bass. Surprisingly Bruce picks up the song quickly and we get several recorded in record time. To keep me from losing my cool when Eric gives Bruce a hug, Paul suggests that the two of them go look over Bruce's contract.

"Gene! Stop being a jealous bitch!" snaps Eric. "I was just congratulating him on being able to fit in so quickly. "If you want something to be jealous over, I can make that happen."

"I'm sorry." I mumble, walking over to Eric and trying to kiss his cheek. "I'm acting like Paul."

"Yes, you are." "I love you but stop!"

Being properly chastised, I tell Eric I'll call him later and leave. As I head out the door, I see our new road manager staring at Bruce. OH boy! This should develop into some very interesting drama.
