What Did You Do Last Night?

"Gene", calls Paul, "have you heard from Bruce? He's late."

"I think Eric said he had a raging hangover. Too much booze last night at dinner."

"Bruce drinks?" I ask in surprise. "Wow!"

Eric comes in wearing yesterdays clothes, hair wild and face flushed. Looks like someone else had too much to drink too. Hey! Wait a minute! Does this mean that Eric and Bruce were together last night?!

"No, nothing happened. Bruce spent half the night throwing up and I spent that time helping him feel better." "I'm tired of you accusing me of cheating. " snaps Eric. Just as he goes to walk off, Bruce comes in looking like death warmed over. He immediately runs to the nearest trash can and pukes. I roll my eyes as I get a glare from Paul. Mumbling under my breath, I ask Eric to please take Bruce home while I look for paper towels and bleach.

Paul is trying to keep Bruce from crying because of his hangover. I start cleaning while Paul helps Bruce to the bathroom to clean up. Eric comes back from pulling his car closer. "I'll help you carry Bruce out." I say.

"Bruce isn't going anywhere. He's passed out in the bathroom." says Paul coming out. "I give him about two hours before he wakes up."

We spend the next few hours shooting the breeze and telling stories to each other before we hear groaning from the bathroom. Out comes Bruce, holding his head and trying not to puke again. "Whatever I drank last night, I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!" he mumbles. I actually feel sorry for him.

Around three, Bruce manages to sober up enough to head home. After he leaves, I look at Paul and smirk. "Remember when we went through this with you. You were so dramatic. " I start imitating Paul. "OOOHHH Gene, my head hurts soooo bad. I'm gonna die!!!!"

"Oh shut up! I did not sound like that."

I just laugh as I head out. Paul is in front of me and Eric follows. Hopefully poor Bruce recovers and we can rehearse tomorrow.
