I Forgive You(Even If The Date Went Wrong)

Even though I never dress up, I decided to do it for Gene. He had told me to be prepared to go to a fancy steak place so I searched my entire wardrobe for something nice. I finally came across a pair of khakis and a white polo so I took them to the bathroom with me.

Gene arrived at six with a bouquet of flowers which surprised me. Paul was the romantic type-not Gene. He was the pizza and soda guy while watching old movies.

Our date started out fine. We arrived at the steak place only to find that they were closed due to an emergency. "Well, I guess we have to find another place." I said. "How about the one downtown next to the Japanese place?" 

"I can't go in that one. It was an all-you-can-eat and I kinda got banned." mumbled Gene.

After I finished laughing, I rattle off other places. We finally settle on a nice little restaurant two blocks over. Unfortunately it's seafood. Yuck! Hopefully they have other things there too.

We go in and I'm immediately scared out of my mind when the first thing I see is a HUGE aquarium with an even HUGER shark. I jump back a bit and bump into the hostess stand and knock it over. I turn bright red. "Sorry!"

Everyone turns to look at me. I run out, face burning and nearly in tears. I finally stop running when I hear Gene puffing behind me. "Eric, wait. Let's just go back to my place and get pizza, okay, baby?"

"I'm sorry!" I cry into Gene's chest. "I'm terrified of fish!"

"I had no idea." he says soothingly. "It's turtles for me."

We start laughing as we head back to the car. We would be awful campers or fishermen.

I love this crazy guy even if he did take me to a seafood restaurant.
