What's Wrong With The World? (Ace)

When I brought my girlfriend to rehearsal, I didn't expect the reaction I got from Gene. I mean, come on, he sleeps with a girl one time and doesn't think twice about her feelings. I tell him I don't have true romantic feelings for him and he gets all hurts and runs off. I don't understand that. I bet if he and Paul were together, it would be a different story.

Anyway, I said goodbye to my girl and went to pick up my guitar. Paul manages to stutter out that rehearsal is cancelled and runs off after Peter. 

I can tell you that before tonight is over, Geno won't be the only one with hurt feelings. I know for a fact Pete's not wanting to be with just Paul. He and his wife are trying for a kid and Paul's not part of their plans. To Peter, Paul's just a fun past time when the missus is at work.

I actually do care about Paul's feelings though and I wish Peter would too. The kid's sweet but so naive. He's very insecure so if Peter breaks his heart it won't be good. Gene's got tougher skin so he'll be okay.

I wind up walking to Pete's place later after trying to find Gene and talk to him. I have been an asshole. I should have told him upfront but I didn't so now I'm sitting on Peter's doorstep like a lost puppy hoping he shows up soon so I can go inside.

We wind up drinking all the beer and smoking everything in the house within thirty minutes. I think the missus came home at some point and found me and Pete passed out on the floor. She screamed at Peter and left. If she had only known what happened before that time she would have killed both of us and tossed Peter out. My girl would have been mad but she would have gotten over it soon.

I hope Monday's rehearsal is possible.
