Past, Present and Future

The Note

I'm the newest guitarist for KISS. My name is Bruce Kulick and I was given the contract yesterday. I noticed when I handed it back to get a copy, the road manager took it while keeping his head down and refusing to look at me. Of course I had caught a glimpse of a black eye when he raised his head briefly. I didn't question out loud but I knew I had to get his attention. After he handed it back to me, I asked if he had a glass of water I could have. He pointed towards his office. 

I went in and quickly wrote him a note that I left on his desk. I "pretended" to drink the water and then left. I hope he finds it. He can't be very old. I do know Paul said he's seven years younger than me which means he's over a decade younger than Gene and exactly ten years younger than Eric.

I get a call later that night from a pay phone which means he found the note. "Are you okay?" I ask.

"I can't talk long. Thank you for asking. I'm fine." "I have to go now." He hung up leaving the dial tone in my ear. Well, at least he called to let me know he found the note. Poor kid. I have no idea where he lives or anything.

I could call one of the other guys and ask but then it might look like I was flirting. I definitely don't want to cause trouble between Eric and Gene and I know Paul's smitten with the road manager so I'll just wait. I then realize I don't have anyone's numbers anyway.
