A Growing Infatuation

I hope I didn't ruin mine and Eric's friendship by kissing him. Bruce, you are so stupid! I tell myself.

A few days after the hangover incident, I run into Eric in the store. I have frozen pizzas and chips in my basket, he has pasta and all kinds of good stuff. "I see you're cooking pasta." I tell him. "I can barely  nuke mac and cheese."

"You're hopeless." He replies, eyeing my cart. "I can teach you how to cook."

"I can't boil water." I reply. "The one time I tried to cook, my mom had to repaint her kitchen."

I hear him start laughing as he starts putting healthy stuff in my basket. Finally it looks like I actually have enough food to feed me for a week.

"I'll come pick you up at six and bring you to my place. I'll make spaghetti for you."

"Is this a date?" I blurt, mentally kicking myself.

"Oh, Brucie, you're so infatuated with me." he sighs. "Tell you what. It's a date as long as Gene doesn't find out."

This lifts my spirits so much. I practically run to my car, I'm so happy.

Later that night, I offer to help with anything I can. "I know how to wash dishes." I finally say.

"Alright then, you have dishes afterwards." "I expect them to be spotless." he grins.

Dinner was wonderful!!!! I happily washed dishes while Eric cleaned the kitchen and dining room. Needless to say I was very careful not to break anything since we ate off china.

I think I'm in love with Eric. No, I know I am. Here's hoping I can keep it a secret from Gene.

Unfortunately for me, I found out later Paul already knew and Gene suspected. I wouldn't find out until I left the band though. Even though I was infatuated with Eric, we never hooked up until he and Gene split. UH oh, I hope I didn't give away the future.
