Lotus Pier of Yunmeng has not been the same since the war of the Wen Sect. Many people died so there are new faces and new techniques. There are new rules and there are still some old ones. Their motto Attempt the impossible. It seemed like only a saying these days for Yunmeng. Even though people say Sect Leader Jiang had mended things with his sworn brother Wei Wuxian, he still holds a grudge. Especially to those who use dark arts.
Baoshan Sanren walked the streets of Lotus Pier seeing some joyful faces but there were some who seemed to have fear hidden behind their eyes.
"This is no way to live," Baoshan said to herself, "most of the people look as if they have seen a corpse."
And you would think they had. Wen Ning, or as people call him, The Ghost General, was a conscious fierce corpse. He only attacked when needed or under the command of Chenqing. Otherwise, he was as sweet as a cinnamon roll. Baoshan stood at the entrance of Lotus Pier's sect. She liked the exterior designs of Lotuses and fine woodwork crafted. She can see it was a beautiful place, but just because the place was beautiful, doesn't me the people are.
"Can I help you, Madam?" The guard at the gate questioned.
Baoshan took out a token that gives people notice that she of of high priority and of high authority, "I would like to speak with your sect leader please."
"Can you wait here a moment?" The other guard asked.
The woman nodded her head and the guard left for inside. He came back only a moment later and said she may go inside. She was happy they were making it easy, or she would have to take action. When she stepped inside, she saw disciples practicing sword formations and stances. Baoshan liked what she saw, but felt it could improve over all. She let it go and continued to the main throne room. When she entered, Sect Leader Jiang was sitting in his bronze throne looking at a piece of parchment a disciple handed him a second ago.
"Keep trying, your calligraphy will improve with practice," he said and looked at Baoshan, "hello," he bowed, "I was told you had a badge of importance, may I know whom I am speaking to?"
Baoshan bowed her head then stood straight, "my name is Baoshan Sanren," she told him.
"Did Wei Wuxian send you as a prank? He pulled a Baoshan prank on me once only to find out it was a lie," he said trying to sound as nice as possible.
"No, it is not a prank, I am Wei Ying's grandmother, Baoshan Sanren. And for your information I can help make new cores," she said, "I am currently doing that for my grandson as we speak. I actually came for his sword and was told you have it."
"Who told you I had it?" Sect leader Jiang asked.
"My grandson's fiancé, Lan Wangji," she answered. She was starting to see what Wangji meant about the stubbornness of this sect leader, "he told me a lot of things about you, Sect leader Jiang Wanyin," Baoshan sat in the chair to his left.
"What did he tell you?" Jiang Wanyin asked.
"The golden core transfer, the betrayal, the moment he jumped from a cliff wanting to die only for you to stab the cliff so both Wangji and my grandson to fall. My grandson, however, has a sensitive heart and couldn't bare to see his Lan Zhan die with him, so he yanked his hand away. Then there was the story of you taking in innocent people claiming to by my grandson and slaughtering them for using unorthodox methods," Baoshan explained.
Jiang Wanyin became uneasy with every word, every sentence, that was said. She knows everything about what happened. Jiang Wanyin did not want to anger this woman than what she already is.
He turned to the disciple to his right, "bring Wei Wuxian's sword to me please," he commanded. The disciple bowed and left the room, "there was a lot that happened. He and I have mended our relationship to the best that I can be at the moment."
Baoshan nodded, "so I have heard. He still loves you even though you have tossed him aside several times," she told him, "I don't know how he has that kind of heart to forgive so easily."
"I remember a story he told me about a conversation he had with his mother before she died," Jiang Wanyin said, "he said she told him, no matter what don't cry in front of those who are not family. Smile that beautiful smile of yours."
"She said that to him, and he was only a child?" Baoshan asked.
Wanyin nodded, "I didn't want to believe it either, but he smiles even when he is at his worst. That day he fell from the cliff, he had a smile on his face as he fell. I can never get that out of my head."
"He smiled even at the face of death," Baoshan said.
"Sect leader Jiang," the disciple appeared with Wei Ying's sword and handed it to Baoshan.
"Suibian?" She questioned.
"It's has something to do with my father and Wuxian, I don't remember to whole of the story about it, but it is a name he found to be clever all the time. It was confuse almost any cultivator who asked," Jiang Wanyin told her.
"I'll have to ask him then," she said, "thank you for the sword back. Your brother will have a new core soon."
"Really?" Jiang Wanyin asked happily, "that's good news for him."
"He also got his old body back, he is no longer in Mo Xuanyu's body," she informed him.
"Where did you find it? So many of us were searching for it," he told her.
"His body was wedged between two stone slabs in the burial mounds," she answered, "his body was cleansed and repaired as if it is good as new. I am sure you will see him again soon. I hope you two keep mending this relationship of yours."
Jiang Wanyin nodded and saw Baoshan out. Baoshan then took a teleportation talisman out and flashed home.
