CHAPTER 8

HINDI pa rin lubos akalain ni Levi na ang isang Prince Lorenzo ay marunong magluto. Nasa kusina siya kasama si Lorenzo at pinapanood niya ito habang nagluluto. Tatlong araw ng narito sa condo niya si Lorenzo.

"Renzo," tawag niya sa binata.

Humarap naman kaagad ito sa kaniya. "Yes, Amore mio?"

Nasanay na rin si Levi na lagi siyang tinatawag ni Lorenzo ng 'Amore mio'. Pero iba pa rin ang epekto ng pagtawag sa kaniya nito ng endearment na 'yon. Sanay na siyang naririnig mula kay Lorenzo ang 'Amore mio' pero hindi pa siya nasanay sa epekto nito sa kaniya. Katulad na lang ngayon, bumilis na naman ang tibok ng puso niya.

"Wala ka bang ibang gagawin maliban sa narito ka? I mean, don't get hurt but what I mean is you're a doctor. You're suppose in the hospital taking care of your patients." Aniya.

Ngumiti si Lorenzo. "Don't worry, I took a leave."

Kumunot ang nuo ni Levi. "Why?"

Lorenzo's smiled widened even more. "It's because of you. I want to be with you."

"Okay." Walang pakialam na tugon ni Levi.

Kumunot ang nuo ni Lorenzo saka muling humarap sa niluluto. Hindi niya alam kung talaga bang walang pakialam si Levi o nagpapanggap lang ito. Napailing siya. Oh, well. Mabuti ng hindi na siya nito pinapaalis. Mukhang nasanay na rin ito sa kaniya pero damn... malamig ang pakikipag-usap nito sa kaniya.

But he needed to wait and he needed to make a move. Levi, like he built a wall to protect himself and he needed to destroy that wall for him to enter Levi's system. Napailing na lang ulit si Lorenzo at nagpatuloy sa pagluluto, while he was oblivious to Levi's stares.

While watching Lorenzo, cooking, Levi concluded something. Lorenzo is taller than him. Mas malaki rin ang katawan nito kumpara sa kaniya. Well, Lorenzo has muscles, he has also but it's just enough to fill his body. Last night, when Lorenzo took a bath and used his bathroom, he stepped outside from the bathroom with only towel hanging on his waist, he saw his abs and it's well dang hot.

Levi squeezed his eyes shut and clutched his head. Obviously, he's now a gay. He's starting to be attracted by Prince Lorenzo, well, he's already attracted to him ten years ago but he didn't give a fuzz. But now, he can't say that it's just an attraction. They are mates.

They're both straight but because of the mate thing, they are not anymore.

I wonder what would Dad tell about me once he finds out that I'm Prince Lorenzo's mate. I don't want to disappoint him but the more I wanted to go away from Renzo, the more that I can't suppress my feelings to him.

"—Levi?!"

Nagulat si Levi at muntikan na siyang mahulog sa kinauupuan pero mabuti na lang at nasa tabi niya si Lorenzo kaya hindi siya tuluyang nahulog.

"Damn..." he muttered.

"Are you okay?" may pag-aalalang tanong ni Lorenzo.

Levi puffed a loud breath. "I'm just thinking."

"Thinking of what?" tanong ni Lorenzo at naglapag ng Cherry-Almond Smoothie sa harapan ni Levi. "Inumin mo 'yan."

"Thanks." Ani Levi. Kaagad siyang uminom ng Cherry-Almond Smoothie na gawa ni Lorenzo. Napapikit siya ng malasahan ang gawa ni Lorenzo. He's really good at making foods. Aniya.

"Do you like the taste?" tanong ni Lorenzo.

Tumango si Levi. "It's good," he said and smiled.

Natigilan si Lorenzo. "Did you just smile at me?"

Levi chuckled. "Yeah."

Napakurap si Lorenzo nang makitang nawala ang malamig at walang pakialam na emosyon sa mukha ni Levi. Napalitan 'yon ng masuyong mukha at inosenteng tingin. So, this is the real Levi? His cold expression and indifferent face are just his mask. Hindi alam ni Lorenzo pero nakaramdam siya ng saya.

He's happy.

He could also feel that Levi is starting to accept him. Well, he didn't reject him. Levi told him that he couldn't reject him.

Habang naghahanda ng pagkain sa mesa, hindi mawala ang ngiti sa labi ni Lorenzo. Levi wanted to help him to ready the table but he told Levi to just sit and watch him. Thankfully, Levi obeyed him.

Levi is just watching Lorenzo preparing the table and when he's done, they started to eat their dinner. Yes, a dinner. Pero hindi mapigilang hindi isipin ni Levi ang Daddy Stefano niya.

"Renzo."

Kaagad naman na nag-angat ng tingin si Lorenzo. "Hmm?"

"Do you think Dad will still accept me if he finds out the truth about us?" Levi asked.

Kumunot ang nuo ni Lorenzo.

Levi sighed. "Us" —itinuro pa niya ang sarili at ni Lorenzo— "being mate."

"Oh." Napatango si Lorenzo nang maintindihan niya ang sinasabi ni Levi. "Well, if he won't accept us then we can't do nothing about it. I know that you have a debt of gratitude to him but you must think of happiness first, Amore mio. I don't want to see you hurting for the decisions that you will make."

"Hindi mo ako pipilitin na manatili sa tabi mo?"

Lorenzo smiled. "As long as you don't reject me, I am willing to endure everything for you. Though I only one request from you."

"Say it," Levi said.

"Don't reject me. Don't ever reject me, Amore mio. That's the thing I can't take."

"I won't." mabilis na saad ni Levi. Maybe because of the bond that pulling them together kaya mabilis niyang sinabi na hindi niya ire-reject si Lorenzo.

Ngumiti si Lorenzo at tumayo.

Akala ni Levi kung ano ang gagawin ni Lorenzo. Nasagot ang tanong niya nang pumunta si Lorenzo sa gilid niya. Niyakap siya nito at hinalikan sa gilid ng kaniyang noo.

Levi closed his eyes. He likes Lorenzo's warmth that was pressing to him. Kusang siyang umikot sa kinauupuan at iniyakap rin ang braso kay Lorenzo.

Natigilan naman si Lorenzo.

Enzo howled and jumping in happiness. 'He's starting to like us.'

Humigpit ang yakap ni Lorenzo kay Levi at ganun din naman si Levi. But Levi suddenly felt the urge to tighten his hug to Lorenzo so he did. He squeezed him and Lorenzo let out 'umph' sound before he let him go. "I'm satisfied." Aniya saka muling humarap sa pagkain at nagpatuloy sa pagkain.

Nagtaka naman si Lorenzo. "Saan ka kuntento?"

Ngiti lang ang isinagot ni Levi saka sinubuan si Lorenzo. "Kumain ka na." Aniya.

When they finished eating, Levi volunteered to wash the dishes but Lorenzo didn't let him and told him to rest. Napailing na lang siya saka nagtungo sa kwarto. Nag-shower muna siya bago siya nahiga sa kama. Napatingin siya sa tabi ng higaan, how would it feel if your mate beside you?

Lorenzo has been sleeping on the sofa since he came to his condo. Pero nakikiligo ito sa kwarto niya kahit naman may isa pang banyo sa ibaba.

Levi was half-asleep when he felt someone lay down beside him and hugged his waist.

"Renzo?" Iminulat niya ang mata.

"I wanted to be close with you. So, please, just this night. Let me sleep with you."

Levi closed his eyes. "Suit yourself."

Lorenzo smiled and snuggled closer to his mate. What a lovely night.
