VINCENT'S POV
When my phone's alarm went off, I groaningly snoozed it and sighed as I sat in bed for a while. I then slowly got up and walked over to my son's room, where I was met by his smiling figure standing by the crib.
I smiled and said, " Good morning, anak. " As I cautiously hoisted him up, he gurgled and grabbed my face in his tiny fists. " Sorry ha, kung wala na ang mama mo, iniwan na tayo kagabi eh, tayo na lang dalawa ngayon, anak. "
" But don't worry, your uncles will be with us every step of the way, and hopefully you'll meet your grandparents soon, who are my parents and your great grandmother Mama meldy; she'll be excited to meet his great grandson too. You'll be meeting din your cousins too anak; they may be a handful at times, but I assure you anak na mamahalin ka nila and protect you. " I said as I gave him a tender forehead kiss.
I hurried downstairs with my son in my arms as soon as my doorbell rang. My brothers' concerned faces greeted me when I opened the door. I gestured for them to enter while offering a slender smile. As I went to the kitchen to make my son's milk and our breakfast na din, I made an effort not to cry in front of them.
As they entered and set their duffel bags down in the living room, Kuya Sandro questioned me, " Nagising ka ba namin? " I lied and said, " Hindi naman kuya, kakagising lang namin ni Liam. " I was occupied searching the cabinets for my son's bottle.
When Kuya Simon asked, " Vincent? " I started crying, which prompted Kuya Sandro to become alarmed and gently take Liam away from me. When I finished telling them how I felt, Simon patted me on the back.
" Vin, just let it all out; we're here for you. "
" We tried to improve our relationship for a year as a family but I guess it wasn't enough for her, kuya. She decided to leave us and pursue her dreams instead. " I muttered as I gripped the kitchen counter in anger.
" I gave up the good opportunity that is important to me. Ginawa ko naman lahat para sa amin pero bakit nya parin ako iniwan dahil lang diyan sa pangarap nya. Tinalikuran ko lahat ng mga gusto ko, maibili lang mga kailanganin ng anak ko. " I stopped as I cleared my throat.
" I've been working day and night, and this is all she's done to me ? she doesn't even deserve to be Liam's mother. She simply fucking spent all my money through fancy things and those men she brought to my flat. "
As I repeatedly struck the counter, I said, " Kuya bakit ako pa? Bakit sakin pa to nangyari? " Simon stopped me and gripped my face as I stared at him in pain. Simon gave me a bear embrace and said, " Tahan na, Vin. Don't hurt yourself na. Hmm. Hayaan na natin siya kung anong napili niya, if that's what she wants then let's just don't worry her. Tsaka from now on, we won't be leaving your side. Me and Kuya Sandro will always be here with you two. " I grabbed his shirt and covered my face with it.
" Simon is right, Vin. Wag muna isipin si Mina. You should focus on your son and to yourself from now on. Tsaka teka, diba kasal kayo dalawa? " Kuya Sandro stated as he bounced Liam on his arms.
As I backed away from Kuya Simon's hug, he simply wrapped his arms around my shoulders and squeezed them. " Oo kuya, the divorce papers is at my room. Di ko pa na sign yun eh. "
Kuya Sandro said, " She must have really arranged this, huh. Let me see nga muna yung divorce papers if they are legitimate, baka false yun. "
" Our parents need to be aware of Liam already. " Kuya Sandro stated before departing for my room. " And Vinny sasama ka na samin pauwi sa Philippines. "
I looked at Kuya Simon and replied, " Kuya Si, natatakot ako, baka di nila tatanggapin ang anak ko. "
As my son was laughing at him, Kuya Simon said, " They'll accept you kaya, you know how they keep bugging us three to give them a grandchild na. I'm pretty sure they'll be excited basta may bata sa bahay. I'm 100% sure they'll love Liam as much as we do. Right Liam? "
" Akin na muna si Liam. Halika Liam, Doon muna tayo sa terrace mag bonding while your daddy is preparing your milk and your Uncle Sands who knows where. " I simply shook my head as Kuya Simon spoke and seized Liam from me before continuing to mix my son's formula and get breakfast ready.
