In Ilocos Norte, Sylvia's Restaurant was busy with staff attending to customers' orders while Sylvia Saunders, the owner, kept an eye on her daughter, Amethyst Gayle Saunders Cruz, who was helping to clean and arrange some items at their restaurant.
" Gayle, anak, would you please come here for a moment " Sylvia yelled to her daughter. Gayle approached her and stopped in front of her.
" Yes ma ? May kailangan po kayo ? "
" Aren't you supposed to be working right now? Gayle I have told you already I'll be alright here. " Sylvia said to her daughter, Gayle just smiled at her mother.
" Ma, You know how I take down all of those good opportunities just to help you here sa restaurant. And besides I don't have anything to do anyway. And I feel like di ako ma satisfied doon sa work ko, nakakastress din kasi minsan eh. And I prefer to work here so I can bond with you more. " Gayle said and Sylvia raised his eyebrows at her daughter's words. " Sigurado kaba diyan sa decision mo anak, you know naman na I'm not against with your dreams. I just don't want you to worry for me everyday. I love you so much you know that. Tsaka hindi naman kita pinipilitsa anong gusto mo. "
" Ma. I love helping you here sa restaurant. And I can't leave you alone here no. I'm always worried about you kahit nasa work ako or whatsoever. It's only the two of us left and di ko po kaya mawala kayo if something bad happens to you. "
" I'm happy that your here anak pero I want you to go out there and explore yourself. Andito naman ang bestfriend mo and uncle's to entertain me. " Sylvia tearfully said and Gayle did too. " I'm still worried about you ma. You almost got me a heart attack when you were admitted to the hospital, noon. Mas mabuti nalang na mag resign ako sa work ko and take care of you nalang and help you here sa restaurant. "
" Amethyst Gayle. "
" Nope. That's final ma, I'll help here sa restaurant. I can't lose you ma and I know your still finding dad. " Gayle sadly smiled and Sylvia gasped. " I... Fine....Di na ako mag argue sayo. "
" Love you so much ma. And stop crying over dad at night okay ? I guess his fine wherever he is, I know his watching and guiding us kung nasaan man siya ngayon. Atsaka I hope makita na natin siya para ma meet ko din siya. " Gayle said and hugged her mama, Sylvia nodded his head as she patted her daughter's back." I'm so lucky to have you as my daughter, Amethyst. Ikaw lang ang nagpalakas sa akin araw-araw. " Sylvia muttered and kisses her daughter's forehead.
Since it was another busy day for them, they both withdrew as more customers came into the establishment. Gayle then gave the newcomers her whole attention, leaving Sylvia to adoringly gaze at her daughter.
