THIRD PERSON'S POV

Vinny regained consciousness about midnight. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes again when the brightness blinded him. He opened eyes again and studied his surroundings, noticing that he was alone in the hospital room, he sat up carefully but groaned in pain.

He lifts his pajamas to reveal a bandage wrapped around his midsection. He gritted his teeth in anguish as he pulled the IV fluids from his hands, as well as the nasal cannula from his nose and the cardiac monitor that was linked to his torso. He proceeded carefully towards the cupboard, where he assumed his clothing were, clutching his abdomen in anguish.

He took off his pajamas and put on boxers, jeans, and a hoodie. When he was finished changing, he leaned against the cabinet doors and took a small deep breath.

He grips the cabinet doors tightly and bends down to get a pair of shoes, which he quickly put on and slowly moved towards the door, peering outside. He looks both ways for PSG or any of his family members. He didn't see them anywhere, so he moved out of his room, holding on to the wall for support.

When he arrived at the elevator, he hit the lobby button a hundred times and exhaled with relief as the door opened. Once inside, he laid his head against the chilly wall, clutching his stomach in misery.

He enters the foyer, covering his head with his hoody and placing his hands in his pockets. When he was confronted with the night air, he closed his eyes. He grits his teeth in anguish as he goes towards the cab station. He closed his eyes for a second before opening them again, spotting a cab and stepping inside.

" Saan po tayo sir ? "

" Sa makati po kuya. Salamat. " he muttered, leaning against the headrest, as the driver nodded and began driving. Vinny fixed his gaze on the passing automobiles and buildings. He opened the window and closed his eyes, savoring the breeze. They arrived in Makati an hour later, and Vinny handed the driver cash.

" Keep the change po kuya, salamat. " he said as he walked out of the car, hearing the driver thank him as he drove away, he smiled as he looked at the mansion in front of him.

He opened and closed the gate, but he couldn't help but notice the multiple cars parked on the driveway. He walked in the door with his abdomen clenched in pain.

When he opened the door, he shuddered at the sound and discovered that the lights were turned out. He walked carefully to his room, closing the door behind him. When he entered his room, his son was sleeping alone in the bed, cuddling his teddy bear, which he had purchased for him on his third birthday.

He sat on his bed's edge, caressing his son's face. His son jerked awake and pinched his brow in perplexity. Vinny smiled as he saw the sight. " Dada? " Liam said, and Vinny hummed.

" Yes, anak? " he replied, tenderly caressing his son's cheeks. " Dada, where have you been po? I miss you. " Liam asked as he wrapped his father in a hug, Vinny crying as he clasped his son.

" Daddy just went somewhere anak, don't worry, I'm already here, hmm.. " he murmured, Liam grabbed him firmly, Vinny groaned when he felt his son touch his tummy. Liam cast a troubled glance at his father. " Are you okay, daddy? " Vinny asked, nodding and smiling.

" Don't worry, anak; Daddy's fine."

Liam nodded and hugged his father around the neck, mumbling, "don't ever leave me again dada."

" I won't leave you anak. I promise. " he replied, kissing his brow. He sat down carefully with his son, Liam placing his hands on his father's cheek. " I wish this wasn't a dream, dada. "  He muttered sadly.

" It's not a dream, anak... andito na ako, matulog ka na ulit, I'll be watching you sleep... " Vinny mumbled as he hummed a lullaby to his sleepy son.

" I love you, Daddy. " Liam whispered. Vinny smiled and kissed his hair, " I love you too, anak, and I'm sorry..." He said as he closed his eyes slowly.
