We left. We actually left. I knew this was happening, but it didn't feel real until now. Until we were packing the last of our things in the truck and getting in the car. There's no going back now. We're never going back.
I've never lived anywhere else. I've never even been to California. I'm not sad we're going, though. Leaving isn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I hate being in the car for long periods of time. I hate traffic and other drivers. Other drivers scare me. Not scared enough to not be in a car, but enough to where I wish I could just sleep through this entire trip.
Why couldn't we fly to California? It would have been a lot faster. Why did we have to make a road trip out of this? I just want to be there already.
I wonder what the beach is like.

Here's how I feel today:
I'm glad we're almost in LA
I'm tired because I didn't sleep well last night
Hopefully I can sleep when we get to the new house.

We should be there by tomorrow. If we're not, I don't know how I'm going to feel. At this point the anticipation is driving me crazy and I'm tired of being in this car. I'm tired of hotels and sharing a bed. I'm tired of fast food and radio hosts.
I keep trying to picture what life in California will be like.
What I know:
The new house is going to be small. I'll still have my own room. I think I can deal with that
It's summer. It's going to be hot
Eventually I have to go to school again
I don't know how I feel about any of this anymore.

Finally, we're here! Only 5 more minutes and we'll be at the new house. I've only seen pictures of it. It looks nice. It's in a nice neighborhood. I hope the neighbors are nice.
Welcome to the Valley! That's what this place is supposedly called. Let's hope we can call it home.
