By the end of the movie, Frankie was asleep sprawled across the couch despite the screaming. It left Hawk awake with Penelope, though he wished she were sitting with him instead of huddled up on the end of the couch with her Hello Kitty throw blanket wrapped around her. He'd much prefer her sitting on his lap so he could wrap his arms around her instead, but that couldn't happen. Not with Frankie around.

As Penelope looked through the movie selection to pick another horror classic, Hawk stood up and stretched his limbs. He took a glance her way, a small smile playing on his lips. "I'm gonna get another drink, do you need anything?"

She hummed, shaking her head before looking at him. She flashed him a smile as he grabbed his drink can. It was the last thing he saw before he walked out of the room, making his way to the kitchen.

He dropped the can in the bin, then made his way over to the fridge. As quick as he'd opened its door, he was shutting it with a new soda in hand and popping it open. He sipped it, feeling the fizzy bubble on his upper lip as he looked over to the door.

Once he was sure no one was coming in behind him, he pulled out his bottle and retrieved one of the little helpful pills from inside. He quickly tossed it in his mouth, knocked it back with the soda, and returned the bottle to its place in his pocket. As soon as he couldn't feel it in the back of his throat anymore, the worries in his mind eased and he knew the ache of his body would disappear soon enough.

He stood there for a moment, hands pressed onto the island countertop as he stared down at it, all the thoughts he didn't want to think about steadily leaving his mind. They'd come back later, but for now they were quiet. Except for one.

Frankie's insistence that he not date her cousin.

He hadn't stopped thinking about it since she said something at the hospital, but he couldn't figure out why she was so against the idea. They could be friends, Frankie had no issue with that, but when it came to them being a couple, that was where she drew the line. It was strange and starting to annoy him despite the fact that he and Penelope were already together.

Aside from the whole Cobra Kai vs. Miyagi-Do rivalry, which had come to some sort of standstill since the opposing dojo was closed, it was the reason why they hadn't told her. She was wildly overprotective of Penelope and Hawk was starting to have a hard time understanding why.

He didn't hear the soft footsteps coming up behind him. It wasn't until a hand touched his arm did he realize he wasn't alone.

He looked to the side, seeing Penelope watching him. She wore a gentle, confused look, and he realized he'd been in there too long, lost in his thoughts. He wondered how long she'd been standing there...

"Hey," he said, voice low despite the fact that they were practically alone. Franke was asleep, her uncle was upstairs working. "Sorry, I... got distracted."

"It's okay," she said softly. Her voice... Oh how he'd missed it.

She stepped closer and opened her arms. He answered her silent question with a silent answer, turning to her and letting her walk into his arms. He wrapped them around her and engulfed her in a hug he'd been craving forever. He felt like he was finally getting to hold his other half; something akin to Han Solo and Princess Leia being reunited once more.

He didn't want to let go, but she eventually started to pull back. As she did so, he kissed her forehead. It was a soft peck, but she still winced, at which point he realized he'd kissed her scar.

"I'm sorry, love," he told her.

The tension in her face eased quickly and she looked up at him. She shook her head lightly. Softly, she whispered, "It's okay."
