I just feel bad
I rlly want to c uPenelope 😍
I know, but I mean it. It's okay.Hawk stared at his phone, unsure of what to say in response. He sighed, sitting back and hiding his face in his hand. He felt horrible for canceling on Penelope, but he knew he had to. If he didn't, it would've left Frankie without a ride, and he couldn't do that. The choice wasn't hard to make, but it wasn't easy to follow through with.
The chair he was sitting in was uncomfortable. He shifted and tried to sit in any way possible, but it felt impossible. Were waiting room chairs supposed to be this stupidly confining or was this his punishment for ditching his girlfriend for his cousin? Hawk had no idea.
All he knew for sure was that he was annoying himself with the bouncing of his knee. The sole of his shoe squeaked on the shiny floor ever so often, but there was no way for him to stop. Whenever he caught himself doing it, he forced himself to still, but the stillness didn't last long. His nerves were shot and he was tired; all he wanted to do was go home, but he was sitting in a cramped waiting room corner.
He supposed nothing came easy, but this was unbearable and Frankie wasn't even his girlfriend.
A stack of pamphlets were sitting on the table to his left, so he grabbed one to look at. It was purple with white text and flower graphics on the edges. The photo on the front was of a woman holding her pregnant belly. It only showed her from the shoulders down, following her arms down to her hands as they rested under the round bump. Directly under that, it said Everything You Need to Know About Your Pregnancy.
Hawk was doubtful it had everything someone needed to know if they were pregnant given how big the pamphlet was, but opened it anyway and acted like he wasn't getting a few looks from some of the older people sitting int the waiting room. It didn't take long to read through, though, so when he was done with it, he was folding it and unfolding it just to keep himself busy.
He looks up at the door Frankie disappeared behind and checks the time, but it hasn't been as long as it's felt like it's been. It was likely due to all the anticipation eating away at him, the looks too, but he kept telling himself it wasn't a big deal. The sorry truth of the matter was that it was a huge deal.
To distract himself, he pulled out his phone again.
Hawk
Do u ever think about the future? He watched the door while biting the nail of his thumb down. Sometimes, he wished he didn't care so much, and when it came to most of his teammates he didn't, but Frankie was different. She'd somehow become one of his close friends, one of the only ones he had left. So at the end of the day, he knew he'd be there no matter what.
That didn't change the fact that he wanted to be out of there as soon as possible.
