No other reply came, which was fine. In the meantime, Hawk brought his cup to his lips and downed about half of the beer that was in it.

The alcohol still burned his throat, as he hadn't spent all summer getting drunk and partying. His summer had been filled with karate, Penelope, and some other stuff in between, his focus mostly on his training and girlfriend. So, the beer was still somewhat new to him and therefore wasn't used to its effects. He still wasn't sure if he even liked it.
