Hawk stared at the drafted text on his phone, stuck between sending it and deleting it forever.
He knew if he sent it, he couldn't take it back and he'd have to deal with whatever repercussions came from it. But if he deleted it, he knew he'd have an entirely different set of consequences to deal with later. The choice wasn't easy and he'd been mulling over it for a couple of days, but he'd only just typed up the text before getting cold feet.
Sensei Kreese's words were still lingering in the forefront of his mind. "The fight is only over when you say it is."
Miyagi-Do had started a war. He couldn't sit around and do nothing while they ran around and disrespected Cobra Kai. It wouldn't be tolerated and they needed to be taught a lesson.
All of them except one.
Penelope was the other person in his head, her smile keeping him in the confines of his bedroom. She appeared in his mind as an angel with her hair pulled into cute ponytails and a flouncy dress. After their talk about what happened at the mall, he was nearly convinced she was an angel. She had been so understanding and kind towards him after he'd told her the trust despite how ugly it was. He knew what it must have looked like, and yet she still wanted to be his friend.
He didn't have the same feelings toward Demetri.
Hawk still felt justified in what had happened. Demetri still deserved what he got, even if it was just a mere kick to the stomach. He was the one they had really been after, but now that he was a part of Miyagi-Do, he'd made them their problem too.
He just hated that it affected Penelope.
And so, he was stuck, but not for long.
Her smile was a lot brighter than Sensei's words.
Calling it off. Can't meet up 2nite :Hawk

Something came up :Hawk
Red: So no go?
No go :Hawk
Assface: Then when?
Don't know :Hawk
Gotta go :Hawk
But Hawk had no intention to reschedule.

Super short but necessary chapter! It seems Penelope's compassion and understanding stuck with Hawk, but will it last? And what will this mean for Hawk's relationship with the other Cobras? No Mercy, right?
